As always units will range from .5 - 10. Most plays will range from 2-5 units. Any play rated below 2 units will not count towards record, win or lose, just unit value.

Wanted to play Northeastern today, but laid off. There will be no more laying off.

Miami OH -12 -110

Tough draw for Weber St. Miami is not a team you would like to open up your schedule with no matter who you are. They return a veteran group that includes 4 senior starters, and experienced reserves. They will not be rattled opening up in Los Angelas, as basically the same group (less Politz) tipped off last season in Anahiem. In fact they opened up last season in the Anahiem Classic going 2-1, while beating 2 very good teams, South Alabam, and Mississipi St. They fell to Cal.
While I expect Weber St to improve as the season goes on, they could take some lumps early. They have a very young team that is inexperienced on the D1 level. They lost their top 2 leading scorers, leading rebounder, and point guard from last yrs Big Sky championship team. They brought in some good juco, and freshman, but to expect them to compete against a veteran Miami team will be asking too much.
Miami's defense will be too much for Weber. They usually play very well against teams that don't physically over match them. Michael Bramos and Tyler Dierkers should also provide plenty of offense. Bramos will easily be the best player on the floor. I will be surprised if Weber breaks 60 tomorrow, and see the Redhawks winning by 20+

as I said this game will not count on record win or lose, just units. BOL

I'd love to see the ML on this game...not thrilled about laying so many with two slow paced teams, but I do think it's the right side and Miami should cruise. Good luck homedawg.

Thank you fellas, bol .

Guarantee - Could never lay such a high priced ML. I have a feeling Miami will put up some more points than they did last yr. They have too much experience running coles offense, and Bramos is a stud. Expect him to avg 18+ this yr.

So.Illinois -4.5 -110

Tough match up for the Minutemen. New umass head coach Derek Kellog has implemented his new dribble drive offensive system into play. That will be up for a challenge tonight as So. Illinois is year in and year out one of the best defensive teams in the country. Bryan Mullins, the reigning defensive player of the year, and 3 team all defensive team in the valley should give Chris Lowe all he can handle. The way I look at it is like cutting off the head of the snake. Lowe is the head, who makes the offense run, and if he were to be contained so will the Umass offense. If you have watched So. Illinois play in the past you also know that they are one of, if not the best teams in closing out on shooters. Driving and kicking for 3 is another key to running the dribble drive offense successfully, and I feel the Saluki's ability to close out on shooters should help them tonight. If you are able to watch the game, pay attention when So. Ill closes out on shooters they actually do it with both hands in the air. Most teams do it with just 1 hand, and some poorly coached defensive teams just half ass it when getting out to the shooters. Lowery is an exceptional defense coach, and this is just one of his unique teachings.
Cleary Umass strength is on the offensive end of the court. Their defense leaves a little to be desired, which should help, a sometimes offensively challeged So. Ill. I feel they have a little more firepower this season compared to last. It will take a few months before we will see what they are fully capable of, but I think they have enough to get a home win against a mediocre at best defensive team. Carlton Fay has stepped up in a big way the past 3 games, and one of the 3 freshman usually step up. This team has had more time then most teams to gel together. They went 3-0 in a September tour of Canada, and showed a good amount of improvement from then until their last couple exhibition games. One of the games they beat one of the best D2 teams in the country, so they have played some decent competition.
This team expects to win, especially when playing in Carbondale. They have an exceptional leader in point guard Bryan Mullins. After a poor showing in an exhibition game he actually lambasted the team before Lowery could. He is an extension of the head coach on the floor. Lowery would want nobody else to lead a young, but talented team.
As I said look for playing in Carbondale, a place where the Saluki's just don't lose to be the wild card in a So. Illinois cover.

Michigan -1.5 -110

Playing with confidence. Belein is an excellent coach and has this team believing. More talent on the floor for the Wolves

2nd Half So.Ill/Umass Under 73 -110

Just don't see how these 2 teams will hit this. I do not expect Umass to put up another 40 point quarter, and it looks like So. Illinois is picking right up where they left off last season with their offensive inefficiencies. I am expecting a much better defensive effort from the Saluki's. Very dissapointed in them so far though

2-1. +.70

not as i envisioned it, but nothing to complain about. after reviewing the plays I really wish I held off on Miami, and played Michigan 2nd half for more. They had total control of the game throughout the 1st half, and plain and simple had the better athletes. I been saying it, watch out for the Wolverines this year. Belien is a program builder, and has shown he can win with less than stellar talent. They have added some nice shooters, Gibson has improved, and Mannie Harris has taken it to the next level. Their style alone will give opponents fits. I really like what I have seen so far from Michigan and my favorite coach.

As for the Saluki's that was not was I expecting at all. If you were to tell me they gave up 73 points there is no way I would have thought they came away with the victory, let alone the cover. I think Carlton Fay's performance has proved that the past few games haven't been a fluke. After watching him last season there is no way I would have said that he would average double figures. Shit, I didn't even think he would average 5 ppg. If he can continue what he is doing, and Dillard can shoot the ball like he did the Saluki's will be back on top the Missouri Valley. There is not an offense that will score like this Umass team can, and you know Lowery will go to work on what I am sure he perceived as a poor defensive effort. It is obvious that this team has much more firepower than they did last season. Many more options this year should help keep them out of those prolonged scoring droughts they would go into last yr. As one of my favorite teams to cheer for, and bet on it will be very interesting to see how they fair against Duke.
