FAU is down right pathetic on the road with a 1-5 record, coupled with some terrible losses against McNeese St, and Florida Gulf Coast. Denver on the other hand typically are very competitive at home mostly due to their style of play, combined with the high altitude. They make you work on defense under coach Scott who has implemented the Princeton style offense at Denver. The loss of Xavier Perkins should effect FAU in a negative way. Having strong guard play is key to attack Denver zone defense. They will finally get back Carlos Monroe, but you can't tell how much he will give them since this is his first game action of the season, and can't be expected to be in game shape. So essentially FAU will be severely short handed in this one. Denver doesn't have elite talent, but Scott's style of play doesn't call for top shelf talent. He just needs players who fit his style, and he has them. They gain more experience every game they play in this offense and it is starting to show with a home win against So Dakota St, and a rare road win vs Texas Arlington. FAU shoots 39.8% on the road. That doesn't bode well since Denver seems to have their number. Two years ago Denver won at home 90-85 as a dog, and lost by 2, 70-68 as another big dog last season at FAU. Both games were high scoring so I am looking for another one tonight. The total is set awful low, and no matter how slow a pace Denver likes to play at they have gone over the total set tonight in most games.

Marq/Tenn Under 163.5
Way too many points for 2 teams loaded with athletes. Marquette will realize they are not playing the likes of Chicago St, or UW Milwaukee. Tenn is loaded with athletes that can defend. Same can be said for Marquette. With the total set so high 1 cold streak could ruin any chance for this over. Neither team shoots well enough from the outside to warrant such a high total. All high scoring games by these teams this season have come against less than stellar competition. Also the absence of JP Price will effect Tennessee negatively. They put up just 62 points against Temple without him. I expect more the same tonight. With elite athletes I see defensive minded games. This is also a big game so I expect a little bit of tightness. This one should be play in the upper 60's and 70's

So Fla/Vandy Under 127
Game that features 2 defensive oriented teams. Both teams hold opponents to under 40% fg def. 37.6% for So Fla, and 36.7% for Vandy. So Fla has tons of problems on the offensive end of the floor. They did add Mike Mercer, and Augustus Gilchrist to the floor, which will take some time for the team to adjust to one another. In Gilchrist's debut he had some of the worst shot selection i have ever seen in my life. Niagra, who is by no stretch a defensive stalwart, shut down the So Fla offense pretty easily. I don't see So Fla getting into the 60's tonight. They do however have the athletes to shut down Vandy on the defensive end. Heath knows he can't get into a shoot out with Vandy and win. He will slow the pace down and try to turn this into an ugly big easy type of game. So Florida's pathetic free throw shooting (56.9%) will also help keep this game under the total. Missed free throws are basically wasted possessions, and SFU will surely have a bunch of those tonight
