Wednesday: 1-3 -4.75 (1-0 +1.0 2nd half plays, 3-0. +3.0 last 2 days)
Overall: 30-21. +16.85

Tough day yesterday. Lost another under where I thought it was in the bag at halftime, only to have them double up their first half scoring. Pretty frustrating. Felt Denver was the right play, and should have won, but usual depending free throw shooting set them in.
Maybe should have re-evaluated my play on Notre Dame. Could have jumped the gun a little bit. I will call that a bad play.

I was looking at Providence too on the ML. Baylor doesn't play any defense at all.

I also like Maryland, Oklahoma St. and Arizona St., but haven't locked anybody in yet.

I don't think ND was the wrong play. It was a good value bet. ND showed us all they are pretty good, but now we all know NC is just killer. Wouldn't doubt they go undefeated this year.

I got faith in you and will keep tailing blindly.

Good luck bouncing back tomorrow.

I think this is a game where Siena may be the 'trendy' pick. I don't think so. I have seen this Siena team play live numerous times, and they just don't have the overall depth in talent to play with a legit top 10 team. Everyone is going to see they return a team that returns all 5 starters from a team that upset another SEC foe in Vanderbilt. I have one word that will make the difference in this game...SIZE.... Siena's weakness is their think front and undersized front court. Other than Ryan Rossiter who is 6'8 (only 216lbs) they are basically just playing with 6'5 forwards. You saw last night in the Oklahoma-UAB matchup just how important a huge size matchup is. Oklahoma ultimately wore down a very good UAB team by controlling the offensive and defensive glass. By limiting opponents shots, and giving yourself extra fg attempts math eventually wins out. Just like it did last night, I expect this to make the difference tonight. As I mentioned the 6'8 215lb Rossiter, he will be matched up against 6'10, 267lb Brian Williams, and an athletic NBA caliber pf in 6'9 240 Wayne Chism. They are joined by 6'7 Tyler Smith, 6'7 JP Prince, and 6'6 Cameron Tatum. These aren't big stiffs either, this is arguably the most athletic team in the country. Like I said Siena is just getting too much respect here. Tenn is an extremely talented, and balanced team. This year they have a true play maker in point guard Bobby Maze. He gives the Vols something they didn't have last season, a true PG. He can run the offense and get his horses involved. To go along with him they have deadly shooters in freshman Scotty Hopson, and Cameron Tatum. Tyler Smith is a do everything, potential SEC player of yr talent. Then you have the beast Chism (one of my favorite players in the country), and Brian Williams. Now I am not saying Siena isn't talented, but this isn't the MAAC, and this isn't Vandy, who was soft inside. Bruce Pearl is a master motivator, and will have the Vols ready to go, and ready to advance in the Old Spice tournament. Think Tenn gets this one by 15+

Good luck homedog. Always a fan of reading your thoughts. Definitely have a good point of view on things and it shows in the W-L column. Was hoping you were gonna be on Siena though in this one. Feel that Tennessee is still snake bitten by free throws and even though they have some veterans coming back I think they will disappoint a little this year. Best of luck with your wager though. I think Siena has plenty to keep up with Tennessee and possibly could pull another shocker. Maybe I'm crazy though. GL either way. Happy T-Day!

Providence +3 -110

Pretty simple here. These teams are almost clones of one another. Key word "almost". While both teams are content on hoisting up 3 pointers, and playing lackluster defense, PC will have an advantage down low. I mean this is nothing that Baylor hasn't seen before, but usually when they are out manned underneath they usually have a big advantage in the back court. That isn't the case here. PC has just as good of a back court. They return all 5 starters from a team last year that proved they could beat anyone in the country (ask UCONN). However, they also return their most important player in point guard Sharaud Curry who missed all last year with a stress fracture. He has done a decent job so far this year running the team and dishing out assists to 5 of his teammates who average double figures They have shooters everywhere, and players that can take you off the dribble. I think the key to this game is going to be Providence's do it all big guy Geoff McDermott. The 6'8 235lb point forward has the size to really make an impact in this game. He's got a double double his last 2 times out, pulling down 13 and 14 rebounds respectively. I don't think the Bears will have an answer for him. He has a knack for getting big offensive rebounds. At the same time he can cause match up problems with the ability to take his guy off the dribble. Another key to the game may be 6'11 Randal Hanke. I think Keno may use his size advantage a little more this game, and use the 6'11 Hanke to exploit the 4 guard offense the Bears use. While both back courts neutralize each other, the 2 Providence big men, Hanke, and McDermott will be the key to the game. Sure Providence is picked to finish around 10th in the Big East, but this team is talented enough to win a lot of leagues out there. I think Providence will continue the Big East's early season dominance and get another big win for the conference.

I will also be looking for a total on this game. It will be high, but this game has the potential to get up in the mid 80's. There will be 10 guys that average double digits in this game so fire power won't be lacking. If this is set anywhere below 160 it will be an automatic play

your not the only one who thinks that way. No doubt this is a talented Siena team. I just don't think they match up particularly well with Tenn.

BOL tomorrow :toast:

Wake Forest -10.5 -110

First off Wake Forest is one of my dark horse picks to be a national title contender. This team returns all 5 starters, every key reserve, and oh ya the best recruiting class in the country, headlined by McDonald's All American AL Farouq Aminu. The Deamons Deacs are absolutely loaded. They have a handful a quick, explosive guards, and even more big men. Look at these numbers Al Farouq Aminu 6'9, Tony Woods 6'11, Ty Walker 7'0, Chas McFarland 7'0, James Johnson 6'9. They are all high level athletes to boot. That alone will give an undersize Fullerton team fits. Not to mention they are the exact opposite only returning 1 starter, and only 1 other contributor to last years team. Sure their lone returning starter is a stud, but he will be neutralized by the Wake's athletic guards. Ishmael Smith returned from injury last game so he will be ready to go. As if they needed him they dropped 120 points on UNC Wilmington without him. In all I am obviously very high on this team. I think they are a top 5 team in terms of talent alone. They have everything from size to speed to athleticism. Johnson is an all league player, and could easily be the 2nd or 3rd best player in the ACC. He is a do it all forward who Fullerton will not have any answers for. If there was a weakness it would be shooting, but I still don't see any problems. I am aware that this game is being played 9 miles from the Fullerton campus, and should have a fair amount of fans, but i have made several posts on how I feel you have to be playing in your own building for it to be a TRUE home court advantage. There is a certain familiarity about shooting on the rims, the background, the surroundings, etc that gives you that home court shooting advantage. All this will be is just fan support, which shouldn't be a big deal. If Fullerton gets beatby Texas St by 10, then Wake Forest will just out talent them and cruise to an easy 15+ victory.

I guarantee that there will maybe be a few hundred people watching this game tomorrow and most of the fans will be for WF. Fulllerton is basically a one man show and if he (Akognon) isn't getting his points, the Titans will get run off the court in a hurry. Will prollly load up for this one...

love the write-up on Tenn. game, thanks for the hard work and write-ups. Like a tpical public player, at first glance I was thinking pts with Siena b/c they can score but they are so undersized. Lets go Tennessee!
