Auburn

Really like this one here. Didn't plan on going this big this early, but I am confident in this one. Missouri St just isn't going to be that good this year, and injury problems aren't going to help. Neither Justin Fuehrmeyer, or Shane Laurie will be playing tonight. Laurie is still recovering from a concussion, and Fuehrmeyer sprained an ankle in practice and will be out 4 weeks. This will leave them pretty thin in the backcourt. This should fall right into what Auburn is trying to do as they like to get up and extend their defense, and run. Auburn is a much more athletic team. This should give the Bears fits all night. Auburn has several experienced, talented players returning. I see no answer for Korvotney Barber down low, and the addition of 3 point specialist Tay Waller was a huge addition. Waller was the juco player they needed to help extend the floor, and open things up for Barber on the block. Waller did just that hitting 7 three's in their 50 point exhibition opener. Auburn has an experienced pg in Quantez Robinson who has started 90 games in his career. If the Tigers can stay healthy I see them being much better then predicted. The addition of Waller is huge, and I don't see how an out manned Missouri St team can come into their arena and keep it close.

While it looks like LMU has help on the Horizon this yr may be a different story. New coach Billy Bayno will start 4 freshman. Not good while going up against a more experienced and tested Milwaukee team. While arguably their best player Avery Smith will be forced to sit on their first 2 it shouldn't matter. Anthony Hill looks to have stepped up in a big way down low giving them a much needed post presence. In 2 exhibition games where Milw was substituting freely he still managed 30 points and 14 rebounds. That will be a huge plus for the Panthers if he can sustain these numbers. Another weakness from last years team was also addressed with point guard Tony Boyle. He is an athletic defender who most importantly can shoot the ball. Milwaukee showed improvements from their 1st preseason game to their 2nd, and expect more of the same against LMU.
Marymount simply is a bad basketball team. As Bayno will turn this program around I don't see it happening anytime soon. Starting 4 freshman and 1 sophmore in Iowa is a huge challenge. Especially going up against an experienced guard oriented team. Marymount is very thin. They only have 9 scholarship players available. Milwaukee went through a lot as a team last season, and that should only make them stronger. They play in a tough conference, and have a pretty athletic team.
With such a young, inexperienced team I don't expect Marymount to challenge on the road. Not against a well coached team like the Panthers, and against a deep backcourt that can make plays.

Looking very hard at the under in the W Mil game. I just do not know where either of these teams is going to find their point production from.
