Will ... you say Sportingbet has DEFINITELY bought Hollywood ... but that is contrary to what was said on another forum ...

"Despite a press release issued by Hollywood Sportsbook to the contrary, Sportingbet CEO Nigel Payne has denied his company is acquiring Hollywood.

In a statement issued by Payne to Gambling911.com Monday evening he makes clear:

"We have not acquired it and have no intention of acquiring it - I would
appreciate a retraction. Any acquisition by us requires a Statement to the London Stock Exchange and as you will have seen no such statement has been made."

Be nice if someone would clear this up as some people have a lot of money at Holly :)

I had to run out of the office for a little while, I'm glad to see everything was taken care of.:toast:

Kidslick, thanks for the well wishes, you're definitely one of the good guys. I won't be moving on with Hollywood. The new company has an extremely talented, large scale marketing division that knows how to get the job done.

As far as questions about the linesets and bonuses, etc; Victor from Hollywood CS will be able to answer your questions and get you any information you might need.

Good luck to all,

PRESS RELEASE
May 10, 2006

Hollywood Sportsbook International has been Acquired.
Hollywood Sportsbook International is a leading online sportsbook and casino operator based in San Jose, Costa Rica which has been sold in an undisclosed all cash transaction. As of Wednesday morning, Hollywood Sportsbook will now be operated by Sportingbet utilizing their state of the art technology and excellent customer care as a white label site.

The business is mainly conducted through the internet and will be integrated into the existing Sportingbet infrastructure in Costa Rica and Antigua. The acquisition also brings additional marketing expertise and enhanced channels for the US market. Hollywood is a well-positioned business in the growing online gambling market.

Eduardo Guillen, President of Hollywood Sportsbook, said “This is an exceptional step in the right direction for Hollywood Sportsbook, allowing us to maximize our marketing efforts by leveraging the strong infrastructure of Sportingbet.”

This represents a unique opportunity to match the well recognized and branded name of Hollywood with the expanding product base of Sportingbet. Hollywood’s online sportsbook and casino products will be complemented by the Sportingbet offering of horse racing, in running wagering, poker, and the newly upgraded casino product.

Hollywood’s existing customer incentive offerings will be maintained to the extent that the integration process permits. Additional customer bonuses that Hollywood will now be able to offer include a casino rebate program, a horse betting rebate program, -105 juice on Fridays, enhanced parlay and teaser odds, and a Million Dollar Poker Free Roll tournament in conjunction with Paradise Poker.

Any customer inquiries should be addressed to Victor at 1.800.220.0002.

Most SBT. branded sites aren't owned by SBT, but are like franchises, with their own financial backers for whom SBT. provide the lines, customer service etc.. for a fee. This is why SBR differentiate BetUSA (and it's GM Bill Nevin) from the sites as he's gone the extra mile a few times in terms of withdrawal policy, settling bets etc..

The problem here is where the line is drawn, to most it would seem SBT. have taken over, but as the above post says, if it *was* a takeover and that news leaked before they released a statement to the stock exchange, they'd face severe penalties and lawsuits.

So even if the intention was to be a SBT. takeover, all that can happen now is it be run as a franchised site..

The live chat session you had is how live chats with the Sportingbet books usually go. Never a clear answer. It's just canned reps giving canned responses to everything.

The only place I have had good live chat support is Skybook.
