They must have never seen me in action. At least one out of every 10 putts it was by the windmill and in the hole.

They called me money in those days.

...He told me that Kim Jong Il was a great golfer and that he went round the 18-hole course in 34 the only time he played there--the professional record is 59--including FIVE holes in one. What hack golfer wouldn't want a day out like that? Thus, the solution for the North's economic crisis that has lured Kim Jong Il out of isolation is clear--launch the Dear Leader on the U.S. PGA circuit....

Communism Rulezzzz!! Only in communism system a human can be as great as the Leader Kim Jong Il is. This is an excellent example about North Korea's excellence vs USA and it's terrible system, which exploit common people. I don't understand why they say something about economic crisis in North Korea. Where?? What?? This is just a prodaganda.

(And yes, my dictionary includes only words which starts with EX)

Good freind of mine does hole in one insurance for a living, guy does pretty well, it depends on pin placement more than the talent.

"Two English gentlemen, John Carter and Paul Simon, developed simple, but ingenius betting system for golf tournaments. They placed bet that in big golf tournaments some player would hit hole-in-one.
Probability that it will happen is 50%. Most small bookies in England had never took bets like that, and smart bettors got even 100/1 odds on it.
Activity continued several years. Their biggest win was £15 000, bookmaker Arthur C. Whittaker offered 100/1 odds for three different tournaments. There was one hole-in-one in every of those tournaments. After this bookies got wiser, but at that time Carter and Simon were hundreds of thousand at a profit."

Graham Sharpe, William Hill's Bizarre Bets (I had to translate this so text is not excatly same)

Couple other good ones by Graham Sharpe:

"Organizers of an orgy in Northampton in July 1997 used recordings of the National Lottery to choose the winner of a draw whose first prize was sex with a porn star."

"Gold diggers rushed to answer the newspaper ad placed by a 98-year-old, bed-ridden, male Lottery winner, seeking '18-35 year old partner with a view to marriage and to share his new-found wealth.'
One female wishing to wed the winner sent a topless photo and a pair of a red lacy knickers before it was revealed that the advert was a spoof, part of a campaing to promote Eucryl smokers' toothpowder in early 1998."

"In his autobiography, Labour Of Love, Actor and a father in law of Tony Blair, Tony Booth tells of meeting the Queen Mother and telling her he had fancied her recent winner, Inch Arran.
'Did you back it?' he says she asked him.
'Yes,', he replied.
'What price did you get?'
'9/2.'
'Did you? I only got 7/2.'"

"American gambler John 'Bet you a million' Gates collected $11 000 from a wealthy fried, John Drake.
They had bet on whose bread, dunked in coffee, would attract the most flies.
Gates had 'forgotten' to mention that he had put six spoonfuls of sugar in his own cup!'

in fact the odds on a hole in 1 turning up in an average pro event are 2 to 1 or 3 to 1, or so.

The odds will vary depending on the par 3 holes on the course and the weather conditions. So if there are only 2 par 3s, such as at Saint Andrews, you really need to see 6 to 1 to think you have a value bet.

If it is St. Andrews in a gale force East wind, where the 11th hole will be a two or one iron and not a seven iron, then 6 to 1 is not a decent price.
