I went to the Canucks and Oilers game on Monday it was a sad affair, luckily I had an unposted over to salvage the disappointment of seeing the home team go down to the worst team in the league.
But what I did see from that game was the Oil playing with some confidence. They were going in straight lines to the net and when they had possession in the O zone they made some great cross crease passes. Had it not been for Luongo that game could have been easily 5 or 6 goals before empty netter. Now they get to test their modest winning streak against the sharks, now wins over VCR and Nashville dont exactly have us jumping up and down but the sharks are heading into a slump in my opinion. Only 7 goals in the last 4 games & some key personnel on the shelf have me kicking the tires on the oilers. San Jose SOG % is Down and so are their PP markers in the last 5 games. Mix in a team with a bit of Confidence and we could have a nice doggy cash.
Now back to Vancity everyone knows they cant score, in fact backing them under 5 goals at home has been a gold mine this year. But in an attempt to score more they are opening themselves up defensively. Not having Torts behind the bench cant be helping, Vancouver looked sloppy and disorganised at times on Monday. The only effort they exerted in the entire game was the last 5 minutes and then they almost tied the game, when Burrows rung one of the post.
Chicago is slumping badly and playing their 5th game in 8 nights whats better than a slump buster than your Bitch Vancouver. Actually I kind of like Vancouver to bounce back here I thought the line would be in 120's at the Pinny but given CHIC situation I will play the game closer to puck drop after we let this line rise through out the day. I also want to see what the Fades at a different forum have to say about tonights card.
Already played Oiler ML and
Vancouver Over X Oiler +1.5 plays 2-1
back after work guys
