In a never ending attempt to lose all my bankroll I'm always looking for the perfect no-brainer system. Anything to alleviate long hours of handicapping, keep it simple, and free up some valuable time to do things like...well...watch the games.

And if you are watching the games one thing is illustrated clearly. The playoffs have started. Tight checking, eliminate time and space, minimize scoring chances, block shots, play for every point like your season depends on it.

System one is a easy one and something I've been harping on all season long. Just bet the games go to OT. Blindly. Don't over think it, just bet it. Over the last three weeks there have been 120 games played. 35 have gone to OT. That's a 29.1% winner when all you need to do is win 25% to break even, assuming they run at a +300 average price. There have been 15 days of at least 3 or more games played in the last 3 weeks and if you blindly bet every game to go to OT you would have made money in 10 of them. OK so I understand it's not too exciting to watch a game and have action only on the chance it ends in a regulation tie.

So... here's another side effect of this playoff hockey we are seeing in February. UNDERS! Man these games are flying under the number. Just bet every game under for the last three weeks and you're cashing faster than I can say Left Wing Lock. The O-U-P numbers over the last 120 games is 41-67-12. With this 62% winner to the under you could lay a average price of -160 AND STILL be in the black.

But as I said earlier, in a never ending attempt to come up with the perfect system and to lose my entire bankroll, (but have mucho leisure time), how about this one.

Adjusted total parlays betting nothing but unders.

In the last 120 games...35 have had a total of 5. The O-U-P has been 8-15-12. While this is already a winning formula all by it's lonesome how about grabbing a extra .5 goal and come out with 27 unders from 35 games? 77% winner and you could lay -300 per wager and still profit from this.

In the last 120 games there have been 85 games listed at 5.5. O-U is 33-52. Again a easy money maker by itself. However add another goal to this and the O-U becomes 24-61, 71.7% winner. You could lay -250 per and still come out ahead.

So you can bet these individually or get creative by doing round robins or single parlays. My choice is the later.

Start me off with:
NJ/Phil under 6.5 -180
Pitt/Bost under 6.5 -190
+137

Be back later as they become available. I'm off for a walk in the park. ;)

This is good stuff. And although you ended the day with a small net unit loss day, this is the kind of thinking out of the box that seperates you from the majority of us. I wonder if the results would not have been better if it wasn't a Saturday night? Any corelation to Hockey nights being higher scoring nights? Just curious. Great way to captilize on the rash of low scoring games of late.

I think your on to something as I have always felt saturday nights seemed to have more goals but I don't have stats to prove it

Agree with both Bushay and you. Over the long run I think there is more scoring on hockey night.

I don't think this trend of unders in the last few days is an anomoly. We are experiencing the closest thing to playoff hockey right now without being in the playoffs. Imagine the playoffs with a bevy of 5.5s being offered instead of the reality that 5s are the norm and on occasion even 4.5s. Bottom line after a bad day for starting this system, (2-4), it still managed to net only about a one unit loss, (-109).

Without listing them here I was on the OTs of every game last night and that produced another profit. Just by doing these two simple systems I turned a modest profit yesterday.
