Yeah I posted that in the game thread.

Either those guys had $ on the Cowboys ML or they are some of the dumbest people in America.

I believe the reason they told him not to score is this.

“I thought they had used their last timeout on that play to Odell when we got the first down,” Manning said. “I thought that they only had one timeout left after that. I guess since there was a penalty, even though we declined it, for some reason that stops the clock.”

They didn't realize the clock stopped on the declined offside. Still doesn't explain the decision not to eat the sack on 3rd down.

Yeah you might wanna have 1 of the people you employee keep track of something like that rather than lose in the most pathetic way possible.

It's a little crazy to me how even keel the players are. I know they make millions but so much hard work and prep goes into a game, if I was in their shoes and we had to take a loss in a game I played great because my coach is mathematically illiterate, I just don't think I'd be able to compose myself in a situation like that. It would be challenging to chalk incompetence like that up to "Ahh well, shit happens"

You gotta call your best sidepiece after something like that to remain calm.

Agree 100%. I'm in awe at how clueless some of these players and coaches are. How do these guys not take time to know the rules? Remember when McNabb didn't realize the game could end in a tie? Or Mornhinweg giving the other team the ball to start OT in sudden death? I was floored in both instances.

And people wonder why Plaxico Burress was always strapped. I'd wanna shoot my coach too if I knew he was capable of something that dumb.

The reality is that when one has Millions of Dollars priorities in Life get dramatically altered from what, say, an athlete in 1942 would have valued...focused upon.

I maintain that handicapping & successful sports wagering has evolved to being much much more difficult within the Lifetimes of those of us who are older than 36 years of age....due to the level of motivation that players have to Win or lack of such.

I believe we see this most Dramatically Illustrated in Baseball but in NFL and NBA as well and its hella hard to factor this diminished level of concern on player's parts, really challenging to try and factor that into 'capping games.

So much has changed within our lifetimes where 'capping is concerned, its become a whole different deal really.

For example used to be if you just picked the winning side they'd cover ATS, like, 73% of the time now I believe that this is no longer the case....used to be one could just play UN a total set at 37 or lower and win. AZ Cards games UN when facing an opponent from The East in an early game used to be $$$ in the bank then they got a Roof.....

...there are so many things that have altered 'capping & betting within our lifetimes that its mindboggling and IMO lack of concern amongst very very wealthy players is a big change we're being made to adjust to.

On top of that players have to Hold Back so they don't get penalized for Hits now that in the past were allowed...

'capping today is very much changed from 'capping in days gone by.

I know the only Constant is Change but Change as massive as we've seen and have to adjust to within our Lifetimes in not just handicapping NFL games but everything really...no other generation ever in the whole history of the world saw as massive a shift within their lifetime. Iron Age, Stone Age whatever...try them all. The level of change was tame compared to this.
