Wow, you'd give even money to someone taking a -157 favorite? I wish I lived near YOU so I could sell you my used car.

I buy cars brand new cash like my Mercedes and my Lexus ..Thanks for the offer though.I will put up 2000.00 for your car on the Cleveland game though and that's without even seeing your car..No need for your title i would only drive it off a cliff after I win with a poster of the San Diego Pardres in the front windshield ...:lolBIG:

When you were buying your Mercedes (Kia) and your Lexus (Hyundai), did you offer to pay the dealer well above the sticker price?

Wow! I had no idea! I put a very small wager on the Padres last night but now I'm wondering if I should make a deposit to my sportsbook and jump on this. Knowing me though, I'd be the kiss of death for all the Cleveland backers (I always lose when I get excited like this about one game instead of keep with money management). Anyway, here's the quote direct from the San Diego Union-Tribune (I think you were interested Choptalk)

"Peavy, who lasted just five innings last night, was among the many Padres waylaid recently by an upper respiratory infection. On Friday, the 24-year-old was so enfeebled that his wife had to assist him out of bed.

"We're not at full strength," said manager Bruce Bochy, who lost first baseman Phil Nevin to a stomach bug yesterday. "I don't want to make an excuse, but it's floored some guys. It's zapped some guys. It's hit us hard."

Peavy (5-1) said the recent illness wasn't why he gave up five runs (four earned), just one outing after Milwaukee dealt him his shortest start in 28 games."

Dunno why public are leaning towards San Diego when that is one infected club house....

Major league baseball players play games drunk and hung over. Not sure the flu is going to have that much of an effect.

I have money on Cleveland, but may root for SD, cause if the tribe loses, at least this douchebag Leo won't show his face here again.

Did anyone see the game last night? The Padres lined some serious shots. Unfortunetly for the Padres the shots were hit in the wrong places. They were getting some lineouts in the game last night. This has nothing to do with illness. It was just bad luck. Peavey may have been under the whether last night explaining his poor performance, but there are no reports of Eaton having any illness right now. The Padres left a ton of men on base last night. If anyone has played competitive sports in your lifetime. You would be amazed at how you can play through sickness if you are competitive enough. Jordan played one of the best games of his career with the flu against the UTAH JAZZ. This explains why the line value is on San Diego today. People are over inflating the illness factor for this game.

I know someone who actually tracks this, and says teams/players that are ill usually tend to perform better. I am still on the Indians.

That's a good memory regarding Jordan (totally forgot about that). You sold me. I'm staying put with my mild play on SD and not opening the vault on Cleveland. Won't be a big deal one way or another and I won't be sweating out a huge wager. Believe me, I've lost enough in this lifetime being baited by touts and GOY's and wagering way more money than I should have on games. This is a good lesson of restraint for me. Thanks Choptalk.

Well - the game is about to start, so we'll be able to see if the Flu has any effect.. Good for future references.
