100% wrong. Someone already said it and ill say it again. Old ass fogies play golf and are decent. they aren't out at the ballpark hitting fastball curves and sliders. No sport can be the hardest if senior citizens play it regularly.

I already addressed that in an earlier post. In terms of success rate it may be tough (although I'm sure there are actions that allow for even less of a success rate), but that is just one way of interpreting the line.



I'd rather swing at a 95mph pitch than return a 170km/h (a good amount faster than 95mph) forehand in full stride.

A serve isn't going anywhere near 130 mph when it reaches the baseline - it loses over 1/2 its velocity by the time you have to return it, even more on grass.

playing golf isn't hard. Playing "good" golf is the hardest thing to do on the planet.

I think he's right, but the speed of the ball when it reaches you doesn't matter, it's the average speed at which it has travelled that matters. If the ball had averaged a speed of 150km/h at you, it doesn't really matter if its current speed is 500km/h or 1km/h. It's about reaction, not speed. My point is that a tennis player has to have a similar reaction speed but then often has to return the ball on the run.

Avr mlb fastball is 86, tennis serves are 130. I play both at pretty lofty levels. Tennis is an international game, baseball is played only in SE and Western USA and some banana republics. There is 1200 American baseball jobs of people making 6 figures there is only about 30 in Tennis. Reason is Tennis is not easy.

lol...The reason is because no tennis match in the world could draw a steady averge of 30,000+ spectators six times a week for six months straight.

Not enough revenue coming into Tennis to pay more than a handful of players.

Baseball payers have to play with fear!

Fear to me is the deciding factor.

It is difficult to perform when fearing for your well being.

You're probably right, but I would love the opportunity to get some swings. I've umpired high level baseball and seen 92-93 mph. It's fast, but it's not like you can't see it. I had Papelbon on the mound 7 summers ago, and I always wanted to grab a bat a take a few hacks.
