I'm on three:

Toronto over 82.5
They may not make the playoffs but there is no question in my mind they improve on last season's output by 2 points.

Detroit under 106.5
Everyone around them in the division is getting better, (actually nearly everyone in the conference as well). Red Wings still have question marks in goal, the infamous fatigue factor, and a bunch of changes in the forward lines.

Tampa Bay over 85.5
Asking a bit much for a team to increase 20 points over the course of one year but man I like this team. Such a wonderful blend of youth and experience. 86 points isn’t such a big deal. They could lose 10 games more than they win and still finish with 86 points, (36-31-15). Playing in the league’s weakest division and conference doesn’t hurt.

One more thing regarding Tampa Bay.

They had a 5-18 record in SO/OT games last year. Law of probability says that shit evens out over time.

hi vegas. as a cap fan i dont thin they are going to do as well this year. lost federoff and koslov picked up knuble thats a net - 15-20 goals. ly they were 17-2 at home early season dontthink that can hapen again. they wil still play exciting hockey butthink 100 might be the best. gl for the season i am going opening night looking forward to it. wonder if the 3 weeks off for olympica and pushing the schedule to more 4 games a week will lead to more opportunites for tired teams. best of luck to all heart 222

Who ever hung those numbers did a great job. It's difficult to find more than a couple that stand out as off base but one I feel have a hard time this season is Colorado at 72.5. They only recorded 69 last season and now there's no Smyth, Sakic...Foote and Hejduk are both another year older and the're all playing under a new coach and a new starting goaltender that never did much until this point. Hannan's their best defenceman and he's clearly not the same player since the cluthing and grabbing have started being called after the lockout. Attendance is wayyyy down and the fans have had enough of all the poor management decisions in the last few years. This team will be once again in the running for the top pick next year again.

I agree with you on Toronto. Am neutral on the Wing total and I think asking this bunch [TB]to win 10 more games or 20 more points than last season is asking a lot. If they have another poor start, the Vinny trade rumors will resurface again and he may be out the door. Tocchet's still an unproven coach and I just don't feel management here is NHL caliber. Owners, Gm or coach. And they may follow Phoenix as Bettman's next nightmare.

The Central had 4 PO teams last season and should of had 5 and the Wings still managed 112. The farm system has had players waiting patiently to take over positions when they became available and no way Osgood has another poor regular season like last years. The core of the team minus Hossa are all still there and other then Lidstrom...age is not really a factor this season. Seems the media believes their ship has sailed. Don't believe the hype. They were one win away last season from coming off of back to back cups.

Actually I thought the Montreal number was kind of high. The main reason I'm staying away is I have no idea what to expect from this revamped team.

If pressed to take a side I would agree with under on Buffalo but as Bushay said LVSC should be damn proud of the numbers they posted this year. What a shame to see how far Buffalo has fallen over the last three years.

Calgary over 96.5 is just a tough number considering the division and the conference they are in. I don't doubt they can get there but I certainly wouldn't want to tie up my funds for six months to see it come down to the last game or two.

Cbus over 86.5 is also very doable but shit they keep losing players in the pre-season, (half of them carried away on a stretcher). I'm starting to get the feeling they could be one of those teams that run away with the man game lost title.

Anaheim under 96.5...YES!

I like the Kings OVER 86.5, (not under). I love this team, their skill, depth...the only thing keeping them off my buy list is the void between the pipes.

aint it great talking hockey again!?

Tampa Bay has two solid forward lines for the first time in years. Greatly improved defense, Stamkos should have a strong sophmore season, Hedman is playing close to 30 minutes in the preseason and has a great mentor in Ohland. Lecavalier should have success playing with the guy he recruited, (Tanguay), and Stephane Veilleux seems to be a good fit on the right. Leaving them with St Louis, Stamkos, and Malone as a second line.

I like them.

Agreed that it's a big number and Washington still has some questions in goal but I think the Caps are going to be very hungry this year. They could have a dominant regular season. No matter what, they will be one of the most entertaining teams in the league.

Amen.

How about the Dallas Stars with a new coach who's won a cup...No Brett Hull and a GM that already has show some common sence. Getting their stud Captain Morrow back, a healthy Jere Lehtinen and Brad Richards, a fresh start for Marty Turco and NO Sean Avery to disrupt the locker room. Throw in the fact they will desperately want to prove their a playoff team once again, and last year it took 91 points to make the PO's in the West and after all that ....the're only asking them for 6.5 more points than they accomplished all of last season. This one looks like money to me.

That's a great catch Bushay. Fully agree on all points. I might take your lead on that one tomorrow morning.

Really like that Tampa Over. You might as well add Steve Stamkos to the list of offseason acquisitions, because the kid really got going in the 2nd half of last year. Their defence is just so much more improved... they have added two top 4 dmen in Ohlund & Hedman (did everyone forget him yet?). Mike Smith is underrated... the guy can stop pucks. Sure the east will be competitive, but you gotta figure Tampa will squeeze out at least 90 pts eh?

vic....
also liking tampa. I played them big last year and got destroyed in the OT and shootouts like you showed and lost because of it and because of the terrible start last season. I am going to play them big again this year to win my money back from last year and then some....

another team i really like is the islanders over they have tavarse, i dont expect him to do anything amazing but hes going to put some pucks in the net and excite the fans. Also the islanders have 3 strong goaltenders to keep them in the game....they are only asking for 9.5 more points than last year. over looks like a good bet to me.....what do you think?
