I didn't she her quote, but the combined powers of the legislative branch are equal to those of the executive branch, and since almost everything that goes to the senate has to first pass through the House and her being speaker would make her correct. President though is undoubtedly the most powerful single person in our government.
Maybe your right, all I know is that I had to travel quite a bit for my job and for the most part didn't enjoy work travel and if my boss ever canceled a work trip for me and simply told me to go home and get paid I would have been over joyed.
I don't believe spouses/family members or friends were included in this trip.
