The Patriots have a ATS record to 6-6 in games below 30 degrees in the playoffs.

The Patriots have played in just ONE game with the temperature below 10 degrees since Brady and Belichick arrived.

The single game was a Divisional Round matchup against Jeff Fisher, Steve McNair and the Titans in New England back in January of 2004. The Patriots won that game 17-14.

The Chiefs have the benefit of having a heated field as well, so that should at least help things for both the Chiefs and Patriots.

I don't call that more experience for the Patriots.

Here's the synopsis of coldest game the Patriots have played in since their QB, coach combo. They won narrowly by 3 and if anything, the total was affected.

Jan. 10, 2004 (4 degrees): Patriots 17, Titans 14

This is the coldest game in Patriots history and the one that might be threatened on Sunday. The field thermometer was frozen at 4 degrees when the Pats hosted the Titans in the Divisional round after a 14-2 regular season.

In simply horrific conditions, Brady completed 21 of 41 passes for 201 yards and a 41-yard touchdown to Bethel Johnson that opened scoring in the first quarter. This was not a game for offense -- neither team broke 300 yards -- but the Patriots held on when Adam Vinatieri booted a 46-yard field goal with four minutes to go.

Drops were an issue all game, including a huge one by Patriots tight end Daniel Graham inside the 10 that necessitated one of the most impressive kicks of Vinatieri's Hall of Fame career. The game ended with Titans receiver Drew Bennett dropping a desperation fourth-and-12 bomb at the Patriots 15-yard line.

I am not discrediting New England's win on Sunday I find it funny how many people had buried New England because they weren't the team they once were and now after one game they are going into Arrowhead and winning. I am not saying you are but many people are overreacting to one win.

The line opened with Vegas assuming temps would be +4 to -4 at kickoff. I think its time to relax about the weather.

I think the weather effects the defense more than anything else. I wouldnt want to tackle anyone if I was frozen. The offensive lines should dominate the line of scrimmage.

If it is single digit temp, it affects the offense way more than the defense.
Catching a hard cold ball.
Holding a hard cold ball.
Throwing a hard cold bar.
Kicking a hard cold ball.
And athleticism, to be limber enough to reach up in sync and catch a ball, with your fingertips... forgetaboutit.
If the field is frozen (it might be so cold the warming pipes won't help) it helps the offense a bit since "they know where they are going, the defenders do not".
SEE the results posted above by my main man, Kaboom.... looks like a lot of unders to me.

KC is the NFL's worst defense against 21 personnel. Pats utilize 21 personnel more than any team except the 49ers. They'll run it right down KC's throat

I love the Patriots in miserable conditions, they thrive in miserable conditions, they never lose focus

Belichick and Brady will be prepared for any conditions

Now that you mention it Willie, the Patriot players seem to have that "miserable look" on their faces along with the weather especially during the game (the only time most of us get to see them). Maybe that is why they win so often.......looking miserable.

Looks like its gonna be warmer, 28 degrees, huge difference from 5 degrees or whatever... warmer helps KC IMO.

Agree. Would like it to be warmer. If it was around 40 I was going to make an HUGE bet on them. Oh well. Just a good sized bet
