WOMEN gamblers will be targeted by the latest in High Street betting.
The first of 100 planned betting exchange shops opens in Edinburgh next month and its owners hope it will be a hit with ladies.
Punters will offer the odds - cutting out the bookmaker - at Easibet.net's Tollcross shop, which will also serve food and coffee.
The concept has proved a hit on the internet.
Owner Henry Spurway: "We are trying to open the idea up to everyone and attract women who would never think about going into a normal betting shop. A lot of women play bingo and also go to casinos so we hope they will feel at home here."
Bookies William Hill have asked for a judicial review of the city council's decision to grant the firm a licence, claiming the shop will break gambling laws.
