Good pic RR. That's Uncle Sol there.
If I had to walk to the nearest open store right now I'd turn into an icicle long before I arrived. No stores around here in walking distance. A lot different than prior generations of my family.
Both my parents grew up with 3 generations of their families under one roof. They were dirt poor. My dad even had an aunt living in the same house. I know Tiz wouldn't believe that but it's true.
My dad had to fight everyday after school in junior high as he was the only white kid in the school and although his neighborhood was relatively safe, where he went to school was not.
But at least my dad could all walk to the corner store and get a good kosher corned beef sandwich. They just couldn't afford it until my grandfather's wallpapering business took off.
Funny I posted all that. About 2 hours ago I called my dad to wish him a happy 74th birthday.
