Forty sheriffs from all across Oklahoma gathered for their annual "meet and greet and lobby" at the state capitol, but every one of them walked out after they were asked to disarm by a senator, KTUL reports.

The senator who made the request was not revealed. One sheriff, Bob Colbert, said no one would say the senator's name and were only told that he complained because the sheriffs were armed. The choice was disarm or "there's the door." Colbert said:

So we all packed up and left.

Colbert continued:

We're the people that protect these people. If the state troopers are satisfied that we're OK in that building, I'm pretty sure that the legislators should have something else to worry about such as the economy or something. Pretty sad day for me.

They went to the Senate floor right after getting a standing ovation on the House floor. Don't know the Senator's name. I wonder how many Senators were packing at the time. lol

So the "Senator" feared for his life, that "Public Servants" are going to whip out there guns on the Senate Floor, WHICH they have NEVER done the dozens of times they have visited there for the "meet and Greets".

NOW all of a sudden a Senator has an issue with it?

Makes no sense at all....

Just thought I would throw this out there. Oklahoma elected it's first Governor in 1907 and he was a Democrat. Democrats maintained that office until 1963. Since 1963 Oklahoma has had 5 Republican Governors and 5 Democrat Governors. As a state Oklahoma has always been fiscally conservative and has operated with a surplus for many years maintaining a substantial rainy fund for some time now. In Oklahoma as a rule the Dem's and Rep's work much closer than probably many other states and damn sure better than in DC on the federal level.

The tards do not want to believe it but I was a Democrat until the 80's. I have not walked across the street yet but I am defintely right of center especially on a financial level. I do not see why or how our representatives in DC get away with all this deficit spending. Wisconsin has shown most recently how a state can turn around under the right leadership.

As for this moron who asked the sheriffs to disarm. Yes we have those guys down here also. At one time Oklahoma was basically a home grown dominated state. Many migrated to California during the depression. Many are migrating back from California as we speak. I am proud of the House who gave the sheriffs a standing ovation, that represents the spirit of this fine state. The senator however represents what has happened nationally and locally in recent years. I would say the proportion of citizens who own guns in Oklahoma is right at the top of the list. I am embarrased that this happened and that senators actions were uncalled for on any and all levels. I hope he gets arrested for jaywalking somewhere down the road. lol

Typically the media doesn’t release his name and the Senator won’t come forward.

That tells me the people of Oklahoma should not take either one seriously.
