Me and the missus are headed to Florida for 4 days in March, the flights and Red Sox v Mets tickets were my Christmas present.

We are flying into WPB on Sunday morning, March 9th and flying out of WPB Wednesday night. Other than tickets to the 1 p.m game on Monday in Port St Lucie we have NO plans. Should we stay in WPB and just drive to the game Monday or should we make a night out of it and get a room there for a night ? Is it nice enough there, is there enough to do to justify staying more than one night ?

Any recommendations would be appreciated. We want to stay somewhere that has a night life. I get to play poker or golf one day as long as the hotel has a swimming pool, so proximaty to a either is a plus.

Thanks in advance.

I go to West Palm Beach fairly regularly, though I am not an expert on the place by any stretch. There's poker at the dog track in WPB which is in almost walking distance of the airport (PBI). I haven't been to the WPB dog track since they passed the law back in the summer about increasing the limits. I generally stay at either the Embassy Suites on PGA Boulevard or the Doubletree across the street. I imagine most every hotel down there has a pool.

The Hard Rock down in Hollywood has poker and it isn't too far down the road, either, if you are going for the day.

I would stay in WPB. I don't think there is anything up near Jupiter that would justify spending a night up there. Again, I'm not an expert.

Thanks BB.

Yeah I've been to that poker room in the dog track in WPB. It was okay but no much action. The $140 SNG's at Hard Rock were cool, maybe staying in Fort Lauderdale is the way to go. Ever been to Port St Lucie ? is it worthwhile spending Sunday night there ?

there is not much going on at all in Port St Lucie. Small, sleepy town. Stay in Palm Beach. You can easily drive to the game and back. the stadium there is right next to the highway. I forget how long a drive, maybe 30-45 mins is all

Normally would say 100% yes but the little lady is scheduled for delivery the 5th. Would be a real tough sell to say im going to meet a online buddy in Orlando. She would think im banging some broad while shes laid up.

Its about an hour and a half from me. Next time you down this way we will do it.

Stay in WPB, drive up and back from the game, it's not that far and it's an easy drive. You can check out City Place on Okechobee Blvd. It's an outdoor mall for chicks, loaded with bars for guys. Go eat and drink at the Original Steak House, great food, bar and anything running or playing that night will be on the big screen. It's the best place to take a date/wife, it's right in the middle of City Place.:toast:

Hey amigo... when the little one starts asking for Blue Ribbon instead of formula, and rooting for the Buckeyes I hope you don't get suspicious. That would just be a coincidence.
