Okay, Doug. I justed talked to Fish. First of all, I don't totally disagree with Kruser6. Northern Iowa relies on the three, but they do have a couple of pretty good low post players. Iowa State has not come out of the gate playing well. Along with getting blown out, at home, by Iona, they struggled against Portland State and against at least one other lesser team. Stinson and Blaylock have alot of high expectations and may cause U.N.I. more trouble defensively by creating steals, than offensively. Stinson can score, but both he and Blaylock are poor premeter shooters. Remember, the last year, U.N.I. crushed Iowa State, so the Cyclones do have that incentive. I think U.N.I. is tougher than Iowa State mentally, and that is an advantage for the Panthers. Overall, it's a tough game at Iowa State -3 or -3 1/2. Iowa State does have the so-called Hilton Magic, but like I said earlier, U.N.I. is tough mentally and they've already won on the road earlier this season. I think at Western Michigan, but not totally sure. Although I don't know if I answered any questions, I think in a game like this, getting points is key.

UNI mentally tougher? cough cough Nice call

This game proved to be as I thought...two evenly matched teams. Iowa State and homefield pull it off...they've now won 21 or 22 of their last 23 non conference (last loss is to IOWA). Stinson had a big game as i thought he would and UNI was cold from 3 pt range against the 2-3 zone only hitting 6-26. Knock down just a couple of those and it is totally different ball game. These 2 teams would go 5-5 against each other on neutral courts.

IOWA STATE is awesome at home, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!

Mentioned last year, taking EVERYTHING into consideration, they may very well have the GREATEST HOMECOURT in all of college basketball.

Put it this way, think their homecourt is worth as many pointspread points as any other team in the country, which translates into being the #1 homecourt in CBB in my opinion.

Iowa State hit some outside shots last night, that's basically why they won the game. Stinson is usually a poor shooter, as he gets most his points driving and scoring or getting fouled. Davis played a solid game hitting some big outside shots. Iowa State did a good job challenging U.N.I.'s outside game and that also was a major reason the Cyclones won.

I don't know that it means that. It could just indicate that they are a weak team on the road. Take Bradley last year. They were something like 11-5 ATS at home, and 5-11 ATS on the road. Their homecourt is nothing special, they just absolutely suck on the road, and there is usually value in taking them at home. That's my take. But I've never been to Ames, so I could be wrong. I don't think there are too many homecourts more valuable than Illinois. Very tough place for a road team to get a win.

Fish- Personally I don't think the homecourt is quite as advantageous as in other years. I think part of it has to do with the fact ISU plays a zone defense which leads to long possessions for opposing team and lulls the crowd a little. Also, ISU is not a great 3 point shooting team and threes really get the crowd going. Just my opinion. But when they are really playing their zone well, I think they are a better road team than some years. Part of that is because Stinson is as mentally tough as any kid to ever wear a uniform there.

Good points, you certainly would know better than me.
