No

From the ages of 21-25 would be my answer.

In 1982 at the tender age of twenty-one I was flying to Vegas monthly to get down on my 3-6 team CFB and/or NFL 10 point teasers that I thought were mortal locks.........with money received mainly through my college loans.

All throughout my college years I flew to Vegas monthly and my money management was terrible.

Although i never was UNdisciplined to allow myself to get destroyed, in those years I did come out in the RED overall(despite many great runs).

Then moved to VEGAS in 1986 and was determined to make myself a longterm winner by absorbing every bit of information I could get my hands on and associate myself with the sharpest of the sharpest players in the sportsbetting field and slot/video poker/blackjack field..........and to a MUCH lesser degree, live professional poker players.

From 1990 and to this day am VERY disciplined..............almost to a fault.

Odd, from those ages, 21-25 i was my most disaplined, backcounting, VP, slots, etc....

i took a brief break from gambling from 25-27 roughly, and then around 28 stumbled into the offshore world. Its been very good to me, but my money management sucks. 2 years ago, when i lived in Scottsdale, i was flying to Vegas weekly, it was a great time, but wouldnt do it again.

now, just trying to settle down a bit and create a life that i like living.

good luck to you.

Since moving to Vegas in late 1985, one can probably count on one hand the days that I have NOT gambled since then.

:toast:

Stay the course Bigbet, your a young man and have many great days ahead of you gambling.

The anticipation of a big score down the road is a great feeling. :103631605

Yea, it was nice the 2 year or so break. There were days that i didnt even think about gambling. It was weird my first offshore account i opened, and watching my first game i had a bet on, it was a rush for sure.

i didnt even know what a point spread was. at times i think i would be better off getting into something else, but then i think, where else can i go and play a game for a living:toast:

Why in the world did you move from Vegas? Seems to me like you are leaving 7 figures on the table yearly by not living there as sharp as you are. How long did you drive a cab in Vegas? Why did you need to drive a cab if you were doing so well gambling?

Worked in the sportsbook industry from 1985-1993 and also drove taxi for 11 months in that span, which by the conclusion of these stints was able to determine rather easily that I could solely live on my gambling income from that point on. By the way, thorougly enjoyed driving a taxi in Las Vegas, even more so than working in the sportsbook industry. I have tremendous admiration for the cab drivers in LV after my short stint doing the same. Most are terriffic individuals and are very hard working, honest, and will go out of their way to help not only help one another, but the many tourists that come to the city.

Vegas costing me 7 figures in gambling winnings?........well in the longrun, yes it will if I choose to only visit there on the rarest of occassions as I have the past 4 years since moving from there. Most all of my close friends make a very good living gambling by being able to live in Vegas and the state in general. However, I love living in Florida and do not miss the smog, traffic, and some of the individuals one meets in Vegas.

Well.....its funny you should ask Fishhead this question......I happened to meet him when I was 30 years old, right between the 25-35 year old range.....about to approach the age of 31......and I believe I have been more disciplined since meeting this Sir......have learned a thing or two since hanging out with him........never thought i would be walking around casinos looking at slot machines. for starters....and video poker machines.......and also learned MANY secrets about inside sports betting angles.....MANY!!!!!!! This man ROCKS!!!!!
