Sugarbear, I can't believe you mentioned Bono's. Used to go there when they were on Eastern in that stand alone place, and then moved to the back of the mall. Where are they now? I haven't tried Chicago Joe's, but the Bootlegger used to be great for Italian food, and moved out to around Warm Spings Rd.

A hot dog "snaps" when you break it in two because of the casing that contains the meat. I think it's called a natural casing when it snaps like that.

You know stuck I live in the area and I believe its still there. Have not been in a while and the food network just ran a hotdog special. I ate at bootlegger the last year it was there which coincedently coinsised with Jeff Allens last year up stairs.

Tahoe kid I am almost positive there is a Chicago hot dog place by the same name or very close on Rancho.

Rancho and Washington/? Near the famous Larrys Villa??
I used to know every bakc way around NLV. Total different world In North Vegas. Drove cab there about 6 months before I moved to strip and never had a problem. Lots of interesting people there. Very different for a white boy from Midwest.

The place is called Chicago Hot Dogs not Chicago Joes and it is on Rancho and Washington not far from where the brothers market used to be. In any event I am on my way as my co workers and I are from the Chicagoland area and we are now jonesing for some hometown food.

Sugarbear you are confused, Chicago Joes is at 820 S 4th St in beautiful downtown. Its an old house coverted to a restaurant and has authentic Italian food.

This info is exactly correct. Now that I see the address I can remember it.
Eight blocks from The Plaza (one-way street).

Also, yes they are open for lunch, Monday thru Friday, I believe, open at 10:30 or 11:00. We usually go around 2:00 pm, after the lunch rush.

I recommend lunch as the prices are quite a bit higher for dinner for basically the same food. We usually spend $30 - $40 dollars for two including entree, salad and 2 or 3 beers apiece.

Make sure to allow plenty of time as the service is usually at a rather liesurely pace.
