lol

You guys are funny.

Ive started a few threads since the playoffs started. Including a breakdown of all the teams heading into the playoffs.

I'm not a "seer", so I did not nail everything to a "T", but I think overall my analysis of the 2 conferences was pretty close. I had Carolina as the best team in the NFC. I thought the Chiefs would beat NE though. NE got healthy enough just in time.

The Cards got their ass kicked. Any of that trash talk was me just having some fun as a fan. Panthers were the much better team. Plain and simple.

Good luck with your Super Bowl picks fellas.

Oh, and if you are sincerely wanting a "write up" on the Super Bowl, Id be happy to give my thoughts on the game.

I didnt know if you really wanted one, or if this was just a jab at me.

Alright seer, I'll start off by saying I do not have a strong feeling either way on this one. I think Carolina -3 or -4 is fair. The books have to take into account the public and how they will foresee this matchup. The public sees a Carolina team that is rolling and has few weaknesses. They see a stout defense. They see a very confident QB that can beat you in a number of different ways. On the other side, they see a Denver team that is not very sexy on offense. A QB that is on his last leg. A team that has had trouble scoring TD's on offense in the playoffs. So I think the line opened fair.

I have a future on Denver +850 to win the Super Bowl. I bought the ticket in Vegas on Monday, Nov 9th on my way back home to AZ. This was the day after they lost their first game at INDY. I figured it was a good time to jump on them as I would be getting a decent price. In retrospect, I could have waited and got a better price. But at this point, +850 looks good right now.

So now I have to decide if I want to hedge. I tried to think last time I was in a spot similar to this and its when SF played BALT a few years ago. I had a future on the Ravens at 10-1. I was nervous as hell because I felt SF was probably the better team. I let it ride though and I am glad I did. I would have had to bet around -200 on SF and cost myself a chunk out of my winnings.

I'll probably let it ride again. Why? Denver's defense. With 2 weeks to prepare. I think Denver has the best defense in the NFL. If there is a team this year that can stop Carolina, I think its the Broncos. I think they match up with them across the board.

The big question is can Denver score? Well, I think Manning has played serviceable the past couple of weeks. He's played well enough for them to win. He's not turning the ball over like he did before he was injured, and thats why they are winning. Sitting on the sidelines all those weeks and not playing, I think he really got a chance to reflect on what it would take for him to win if he ever got his chance again. I think he faced his own football mortality and I think he was finally honest with himself. Manning is one smart man. One of the sharpest to ever play the position. He knows his limitations now, and is going to play within them.

So how much can they score though? Thats the question. I see a 23-20 type game. Flip a coin as to the winner. If Im going to bet it ATS, Im hoping the game will hit 6 or higher by next weekend. I will be in Vegas for the Super Bowl, so I will be waiting to make my wager then. I will most likely be playing the under as well.

In summary though, I dont see much value in the line or the total. But its the Super Bowl, and I want some action.

Good luck with your Super Bowl plays seer. :toast:
