Did the Gus hire affect his Auburn buyout?

This is a good hire. Gus' offense will work in the G5. Also, at his age he likely stays there the rest of his career (vs. hoping to a bigger job).

I originally thought Gus wouldnt be there long until i saw that he was 55 years old.

UCF hired GOL when he was 56 and stayed more than a decade.

His offense should work well in a G5

I'm fine with the hire. I'm really not sure who the best hire would have been?

His contract extension signed in 2017 included no mitigation for Auburn's payout totals should Malzahn take a follow up job
