[/FONT]Republican White House hopeful Donald Trump will name Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his vice presidential running mate on Friday, Roll Call news site reported, a choice that would help the New York businessman appeal to conservatives and could boost his chances in a competitive state. Roll Call on Thursday cited an unidentified Republican with direct knowledge of the decision to choose Pence, 57, a former U.S. congressman. Reuters has not confirmed the report. The New York Times reported the same thing.

[h=1]HE'S HIRED: Trump to name Indiana Governor Mike Pence as running mate according to reports[/h]
  • Roll Call, a Washington, DC political newspaper, reported Thursday that Donald Trump has picked Pence as his vice-presidential nominee
  • Campaign officials would not confirm the report; chairman said decision was still to be 'made in the near future'
  • Formal announcement will be made Friday morning in New York City, followed by Fox News appearance and joint interview with '60 Minutes'
  • Indianapolis newspaper confirmed Pence has dropped his bid for re-election as governor, while other reports have Trump insiders telling the Republican national Committee that the deal is done
  • Pence brings conservative Christian credentials that could alienate centrists and Democratic crossover voters, but may give right-wingers less reason to oppose Trump

Republican White House hopeful Donald Trump will name Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his vice presidential running mate on Friday, multiple news outlets reported Thursday morning, a choice that would help the New York businessman appeal to conservatives and could boost his chances in a competitive state.
Roll Call on Thursday cited an unidentified Republican with direct knowledge of the decision to choose Pence, 57, a former U.S. congressman.
The Trump campaign would not officially confirm the reports Thursday afternoon. And campaign chairman Paul Manafort tweeted that it was too early to say the billionaire real estate tycoon had locked in his pick.
'[A] decision will be made in the near future and the announcement will be tomorrow at 11am in New York,' he wrote on Twitter.
The campaign announced a campaign event at a Manhattan Hilton hotel but did not say who would be appearing alongside the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
ABC News and NBC News cautiously reported that Trump is 'leaning toward' picking Pence.
The Drudge Report, among the world's most influential news aggregation websites, quickly spread word that Fox News host Sean Hannity will interview Pence Friday night after he's officially part of the ticket, and that the CBS show '60 Minutes' would feature a joint interview with Trump and Pence Sunday night.

FAMILY MAN: Pence was joined onstage in 2011 by (L-R) son Michael, daughter Charlotte, wife Karen and daughter Audrey when he accepted the state Republican Party's nomination for governor

PASSED THE AUDITION: Pence spoke at a Trump rally near Indianapolis on Tuesday night, praising the businessman and hammering his rival Hillary Clinton

The two Republicans spent time this month testing their chemistry at Trump's golf course in New Jersey and at the governor's residence in Indiana. Trump was impressed with Pence's calm manner and his experience on Capitol Hill and as governor, Roll Call reported.
Other news outlets leapt to re-confirm the Pence choice, including CNN, CBS News and The New York Times.
The Times reported that Trump insiders had reached out to the Republican National Committee to tell them Pence would be the running mate.
Manafort, however, batted back the paper's sources and played coy. 'We have not been reaching out to Washington to tell them to prepare for any particular candidate,' Manafort told the Times.
And Trump himself took advantage of the singular moment to tweet – but not about Pence.
'I employ many people in the State of Virginia - JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!' he wrote. 'Crooked Hillary will sell us out, just like her husband did with NAFTA.'

[h=3]GET TO KNOW TRUMP'S CHOICE: WHO IS GOV. MIKE PENCE?[/h]
364732C900000578-3690404-image-m-36_1468518880423.jpg

GOV. MIKE AND KAREN PENCE

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is a staunch social conservative who has been married for more than 30 years to wife Karen, a schoolteacher at Rosa Parks Elementary School in Indianapolis before she became the state's first lady.
They have a son and two daughters.
Pence, 57, was born in Columbus, Indiana and hosted a talk radio program for four years in the 1990s before entering politics.
In 2001 he was elected to the House of Representatives and moved to Indiana's governor's mansion in 2012.
Pence told Indiana's WTHR-TV13 in 2013 that politics 'has always been a family affair for us, from the very first campaign headed out to county fairs, while Karen and I would be shaking hands at the Republican tent, the kids would be standing out in front of the tent, handing out flyers and shaking hands.'
Son Michael added that 'we've had a pretty normal childhood. We've seen some cool things in D.C. and now Indiana, but it's been pretty normal until the last six months.'
That was right after his dad was sworn in as governor.
Karen Pence is an avid watercolor painter and education advocate who studied Elementary Education at Butler University.
She said in 2013 that she would get used to the idea of giving up her privacy – a practice she will have to continue if her husband becomes America's vice president.
'I am just going to get over it and realize the next four years we are going to be in the public eye and we want to make the most of it,' she said.
Michael Pence attended Purdue University in Indiana and studied to be a pilot, later joining the Marines. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant last year.
Elder daughter Charlotte Pence studied Digital Cinema and English at DePaul University, and graduated this year.
She has been a freelance producer for public TV station WFYI in Indianapolis. One of her projects, a documentary titled 'Fleeced,' – about scams that target the elderly – won an Emmy award.
Younger daughter Audrey Pence is the political black sheep in the family – a political independent and a social liberal. WTHR reported that she didn't vote a straight Republican ticket in her first election.
Her dad, though, didn't discourage her from finding her own way.
'Probably the person I get the most respect from is my dad on that and ... he tells me so many times, "I am proud of you for having your own opinions and looking into things",' Audrey told WHTR.

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter, who has been a significant Trump booster, was nonplussed with the choice.
'Better VP picks for Trump! Kris Kobach, Scott Brown, Pat McCrory, Mike Crapo, David Clarke, Mike Tyson, my next door neighbor ..' she tweeted.
The Indianapolis Star independently confirmed the reports that Trump had chosen his man, noting that Pence had dropped his bid for re-election as governor.
Pence had a vice-presidential speaking audition Tuesday night in an Indianapolis suburb, electrifying a home-town crowd with aggressive jabs at Democratic candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton.
He called Trump 'a fighter, a builder and a patriot' who has the potential to inspire 'like no other American leader in my lifetime since Ronald Reagan.'
'Hillary Clinton must never become President of the United States of America,' the governor said, to home-turf cheers.

NOT PLAYING ALONG: Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort insisted on Twitter that no deal had been made just yet

And in a nod to the 2012 Benghazi terror attacks that have formed the basis for countless Republican attacks on the former secretary of state, Pence said: 'We don't need a president who took 13 hours to send help to Americans under fire and after four brave Americans fell, said, "What difference, at this point, does it make?"'
'Anyone who ever said that, anyone who did that, should be disqualified from ever being commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the United States of America.'

SPOTLIGHT: Pence and his wife Karen greeted reporters outside the Indianapolis Central Library during the Indy 500 Festival Parade on May 28

Pence's tryout followed similar appearances in North Carolina and Ohio by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Christie told MSNBC as the news unfolded that 'obviously I'm a competitive person. So I'm not gonna say it won't bother me if I'm not selected.'
Gov. Pence's fiery speech Tuesday stands as a contrast to most Americans' underwhelming opinions about him, according to recent polling.
A July 8-10 survey conducted by the Morning Consult found little enthusiasm in Pence's corner, with just 12 per cent saying his name on the ticket would make them more likely to support Trump.
Among only Republicans, he would make 22 per cent more likely and 11 per cent less likely; 40 per cent said the pick wouldn't impact their Election Day decision at all.
Pence is a low-key evangelical Christian who lacks Trump's showman's flair. But his cautious demeanor is unlikely to produce negative headlines in the nearly four months remaining before voters choose their next president.
He has pressed unapologetically conservative views on some social issues, including gay rights and abortion, which could both alienate Trump from centrist voters and give the party's right wing less reason to oppose him at next week's nominating convention.
Mitch McConnell, the Kentucky native and U.S. Senate Majority Leader seen as a moderate, told CNN that picking the Indianan is 'a good move by Donald Trump. We look forward to enthusiastically supporting the ticket.'
Pence had backed a Trump rival, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, in April before the Indiana primary, but he praised the New York businessman and said he would work on behalf of the eventual Republican nominee.
Trump won Indiana anyway, prompting Cruz to drop out of the party race to be the nominee for the Nov. 8 presidential election.

MUM'S THE WORD: Pence spoke at an 'Innovation Showcase' event in Indianapolis on Thursday but made no mention of the veepstakes

TRUMP, NOT INTERRUPTED: The Donald was tweeting more than an hour after the Pence news broke – but not about his vice presidential search

Pence had considered running for president himself in 2016 before deciding to run for re-election as governor.
Conservatives had urged him to seek the White House, but missteps in 2015 related to an Indiana law seen as anti-gay hurt his national profile.
This year, he was the target of a mocking social media campaign by women outraged at a law he signed creating new restrictions on abortions.
Feeling that the law invaded their privacy, women responded by calling Pence's office to describe their menstrual periods or tweeting similar messages.
Pence ran unsuccessfully for Congress twice before he was elected to the House of Representatives in 2000, where he was chairman of the Republican Study Committee, a group of conservatives.

FWIW, Pence wouldn’t have been my choice but I’m not Trump so my opinion means nothing.

Dear Ann Coulter, I don't care of his accomplishments. You cannot name a guy named "Crapo" as your running mate. It's just too easy a target for dems to shit on.

Maybe I jumped the gun.

Reports surfaced on Thursday afternoon that presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump picked Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his vice president (VP).

“As Trump narrowed in on his choice of Pence, the two men spent time at both Trump’s golf resort in New Jersey in early July and at the Indiana governor’s mansion this week,” Roll Call notes, citing an anonymous Republican source for the report.

The New York Times and CBS have also reported the pick is Pence.

However, the Trump campaign is denying this is true.

If Pence IS Trump’s VP pick, he better DELETE these tweets REAL fast!!

According to my sources at the Right Scoop, a right-wing hate site, Trump insiders say that the VP is going to be Mike Pence!! Now before you grab your pitchforks and “traitor” signs, take a second to laugh at these tweets clearly criticizing el Trumpo’s policies:

CnVxKDAWEAAEqLo.jpg:large

The new Trumpence will come out and yell, “when I meant offensive, I meant it would be offensive to losers and jerks, yeah! EAT IT!!”

But wait, there’s more!!!

Ohhhhh that’s awkward. OK let’s give this a go:

CnWCO8IWYAA6B5d.jpg

“By swift adoption, I meant that it would be like an adopted child – you know, you kinda beat him every now and then because he’s not REALLY your kid. TRUMP TWO THOUSAND SIXTEEN!!”

Or, he could pull a Trump and just deny he ever said it despite all evidence to the contrary. After all, words have no meaning, and Trumpers don’t care about the past.

Joe, I'm curious. Are you pro-TPP or anti-TPP?

A guy named Barack Hussein Obama might disagree

No trade agreement is perfect and they're all going to create winners and losers but if not a TPP, then another agreement that is only slightly different would take place. It is the reality of the world we live in.

If a few billion people in the world can be trained to do what you can do in a month then you probably aren't going to be highly compensated for it. Whether the agreement is 5,500 pages long or 3 pages long.

NAFTA/globalism has become a convenient scapegoat for that this election cycle.
