this is coming from an alabama guy also. my wife is a auburn girl and she is at the west virginia game. she just sent me a text and said wv has a GUY majorette. coldweather analysis is deserved here...wv has a fairy for a baton twirler therefore they be somewhat gay tonight and the barners get lucky.:nohead:

Drum majors aren't uncommon at all in college football. Ohio State and most of the black colleges have serious showmen as their majors.

Now if it's just a dude on the sidelines twirling a baton like a 1970s Kilgore Rangerettes wannabe, that's a little odd.

Sure, one is male, the other female, as denoted by the suffix "-ette." Otherwise they perform the same job of leading the band on the field.

Majorette = baton twirling equivalent of flag corps.
Drum Major = directs band on field

Female drum major - cool
Male majorette - not cool
