I never have heard of a vietnam vets recieving 3 PHs w/o injuries and getting shipped out of Vietnam for the 3 fake purple hearts. Someone may have lucked into 1 but not 3. Game - Wil is right - I knew one guy who got a purple heart because he had a colapsed lung - his theory was that the hole in his chest (to inflate the lung?) looked like an AK47 hole, so they gave him the medal.
In another incident, an MP got shot through the cheek of his ass by an M16, in one of those "you had to be there to believe it" situations, and got a purple heart.
Neither one of those guys got to go home.
In my opinion, such situations make Kerry's "heroism" and Purple Hearts seem more faked than ever.

One thing is for certain Kerrys senate record is horrible, however, Kerry has made Vietnam an issue. It's hard to ignore Kerry in Vietnam when he brings it up everyday. The worse thing is what kerry did upon returning from Vietnam, his ties with hanoi Jane and the harm they caused to our soldiers in the field.
