This is exactly why following people picks is foolishness. Unless they do in fact put up some sort of reasoning, then why bother? I know a lot of guys "don't have time" but unless you are asked specifically for an opinion, then don't post a play at all. Especially if you don't have a reason.

Because who is to say this doesn't happen a lot more often than this. Not that this is proof. But it does seem odd. But who is going to actually follow someone so new? This is a complicated issue. Because the older more respected guys are not above plagerism and the like. So basically you get what you pay for in free forums.

I can tell you this.

A shitload of people (myself included) have blindly played N. Ice's picks before without reading a writeup/analysis.

And I would do it again.

Why?

Because he has established himself as a knowledgable gambler who can be trused IMO.

The thing I LOVE about writeups, ESPECIALLY WHEN I LIKE THE OTHER SIDE, is that things are pointed out to me that I may not have noticed.

And maybe, just maybe, I'll lay off my play.

I have saved more money this way than not.

So YES, writeups are very helpful also.

Northern Ice is the ONE exception. Not that I make many (exceptions), but he only posts when he has something pertinant to say. He also only posts one play a day, or at most two. So he isn't always adding on, or taking away. Heposts a play, and it counts. Also counts it at whatever number he says. So even if later on the ine changes, and his line loses, but the new line won, he counted it as a loss. I saw that at least once last year. So he is the one person I did look at on a consistant basis. But mostly because he was on that 100 pick streak.
