Was watching the gymnastics trials last night with the GF. I realized that gymnastics has to be one of the few Olympic sports that has no competitions for adults.
I can go out and join a track club and compete in running, same with cycling and swimming - there are adult meets & awards for all of those for amateur adults. But what about gymnastics? Keep in mind, I'm not just talking about "classes" or groups that meet at the local Y, I'm talking about bonafide competitions, against other adults, where people win - is there such a thing for gymnastics? If someone has the overwhelming need to take up the balance-beam at 35 and win a medal at it, are there competitions for that?
