(Sports Network) - The Miami Heat will try to stay perfect in December when they close out a three-game homestand tonight versus the Atlanta Hawks at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Miami has won four in a row to start the month and improved to 2-0 on the residency following Monday's 100-96 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats. Dwyane Wade's two free throws in the closing seconds capped a 41-point effort and lifted Miami to a 7-3 home record this season.
Wade, who scored 40 or more points for the third time this season, also grabbed eight rebounds in the win. Mario Chalmers and Shawn Marion added 15 and 13 points, respectively, for the Heat. Miami center Jamaal Magloire (elbow) is questionable for Friday's game.
Atlanta is 0-3 so far on a four-game road trip and suffered a 95-89 setback to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday at the AT&T Center.
Joe Johnson registered a game-high 29 points and six assists for the Hawks, who have dropped three straight games, all in the state of Texas. The Mavericks beat the Hawks, 100-98, on Saturday and the Rockets won 92-84 on Tuesday. Ronald Murray had 17 points and four steals in defeat.
The Hawks are 5-8 away from Philips Arena this season.
Atlanta went 3-1 against the Heat a year after losing the previous four matchups. The Hawks have lost 21 of their last 23 games in South Beach.
