OK, early last year I tried playing the Heat before they shut Wade down and I got killed. Layed off them the rest of the season. Thank god for a new season. Wade is playing like an MVP, they have a modest 4 game win streak and they own the Hawks (if you throw out last year). The Hawks are fading fast and have already lost the first 3 of this 4 game roadtrip.

Heat -2 (5dimes) seems like a real bargain.

this does seem like the right play. heat are tough at home. i dont like the line movement though. 80% of 3200 bets on heat and same as it opened.

Sorry for the clutter, but here is some more insight:

Atlanta Hawks (12-9) at Miami Heat (12-9), 7:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Miami Heat will try to stay perfect in December when they close out a three-game homestand tonight versus the Atlanta Hawks at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Miami has won four in a row to start the month and improved to 2-0 on the residency following Monday's 100-96 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats. Dwyane Wade's two free throws in the closing seconds capped a 41-point effort and lifted Miami to a 7-3 home record this season.

Wade, who scored 40 or more points for the third time this season, also grabbed eight rebounds in the win. Mario Chalmers and Shawn Marion added 15 and 13 points, respectively, for the Heat. Miami center Jamaal Magloire (elbow) is questionable for Friday's game.

Atlanta is 0-3 so far on a four-game road trip and suffered a 95-89 setback to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday at the AT&T Center.

Joe Johnson registered a game-high 29 points and six assists for the Hawks, who have dropped three straight games, all in the state of Texas. The Mavericks beat the Hawks, 100-98, on Saturday and the Rockets won 92-84 on Tuesday. Ronald Murray had 17 points and four steals in defeat.

The Hawks are 5-8 away from Philips Arena this season.

Atlanta went 3-1 against the Heat a year after losing the previous four matchups. The Hawks have lost 21 of their last 23 games in South Beach.

I don't like betting games that eveyone is on but I give very little credence to line movement.

69 percent of the squares are on the Heat and the line has'nt moved. Hawks lost 3 straight close games on the road to good teams. Heat only has 3 wins vs. winning teams this year. Against Spurs, Jazz and Suns who all had star players out with injuries at the time. Hawks win tonite.

Atlanta is far superior. Miami won their last 4 by very narrow margins and each team put up points. 3 days off to savor their narrow wins = underfocused, overconfident. Not the way you want to face a hungry Hawks team.

why is MIA not hungry? 5 of last 6 vs. anyone is not to be taken lightly, espically when u have a game changer like wade on the team.

i simply disagree. I think teams coming off of several narrow victories with 3 days off before their next one are generally relaxed. they had narrow victories at home to two bad teams, and very narrow road victories against one bad team and a crippled Utah Jazz team (many injuries). this line is fools gold to me.

Atlanta on the other hand is coming off of 3 losses on a road trip in which they hoped to at least split. They played 3 very good teams on the road in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. they lost each game by a reasonably small margin and were in each game til the end.

Tell me who you'd back? the team who narrowly beat bad teams at home, or the team who hung with very good teams on teh road and lost by a narrow margin in each contest.

Good luck with your plays

again, not that the heat can't win this game. I'm not saying that. This is gambling and square plays win sometimes too. I will just take my chances with Atlanta with my reasoning above.

i would back a team that wins rather than loses, granted not great against the spread but with it 2 its not much more than picking winner and loser, but thats just me. gl

Miami has'nt beaten any team with a winning record this season. I don't put much into the 3 wins against the Spurs, Suns and Jazz who were decimated with injuries.

Atl 0-3 last 3 games, Mia 4-0 last 4 games.
But Atl lost to Dallas, Houston, SA, 3 tough teams on the road, and they had decent chances to beat Dallas and Houston.
Mia beat GS, Utah, Oakahoma, Charlotte with 1~6 points.

Atl is one of my top play tonight.

The Atlanta team that shows up on the Rd is not as good as the Atlanta team that shows up at home. Same difference with Miami. I'm backing Miami 7-3 at Home vs Atlanta 5-8 on Rd.

IF form holds, Miami wins by 4.

If if wasnt if we'd all be rich. GL

ATL straight up in this one. Joe Johnson is HOT and will lead them to a W against this one man team.
