Judge,

You had me worried after that first sentence. Glad you are doing well. Stop by The German Club one of these Tuesdays, brother.

Which hospital?

I have some horror stories about the public hospital in Alajuela.

Happy to hear you're fine again Judge. I too have heard great things about that private hospital, CIMA. Was it reasonably affordable? Well, on second thought I guess the price is not the most important thing under such a circumstance.

On the subject of health care in Costa Rica... Did you know that there are thousands of tourists that come to Costa Rica for health care needs each year? Dentistry, Plastic surgery are among the most popular products that many Americans visit Costa Rica for, where the costs are fractional to those in the US, while the quality is second to none in those fields.

I've heard that CIMA is like staying at a 5 star hotel. Visit hours and those things are the same in Clinica Biblica, Catolica and another small private clinic that I can't remember, very different than going to any of the Caja Hospitals

It's great to hear you are doing fine now my friend

Thanks Kat.Yeah it is my understanding that the Caja hospitals are quite different. But good to know there is quality health care available here.In fact I will go further and say my experience here this week was far better than any experience I had in the US concerning a hospital.

before my grandmother died, she was there for about a month. we had to bring some pillows from our house because they said that they had no extras. her bed couldnt recline upward. she had to wait till another patient left to switch beds. when ppl shower there, they have hoses that you have to use. wtf is that. its like the patients are in prison or something. im just glad that my grandma spent her last few days at home and not in that dump. i hope i never have to be a pateint there.
