JOH,

I would have 3 plays short. I checked the forum all day yesterday and then again this morning, no luck. So I didn't check until tonight at 10pm (after watching a movie). I think with the interruption lasting 20+ hours covering both Saturday and Sunday, perhaps there shouldn't be a penalty for anyone in this P2P round. From this thread alone, I can see how messy it is, really.

Rules are rules, but when the forum is inaccessible, the rules should be adjusted to reflect that.

Yeah, then the Rules state "Emailing picks won't be allowed"... but it only states that under the "Final 32" section, but outside of that section it never states that emailing picks ARE allowed and whom to contact or whom will accept emailed-in-picks... and then some peoples late-posted plays are accepted and others aren't (even when a "late play" was 1 minute prior to first pitch.)

And now I realize that I'm bitchin' and complainin' about a free contest, but when a forum goes down for 24+ hours and NOBODY can access the board, how the hell can any of us access the lines, email addresses, or the standings or rules thread to see how we're supposed to deal with this situation??

JOH, do whatever you have to in order to make this as stress free as possible. You're already going through a lot of trouble to co-ordinate this, but there's no doubt that this round has been tainted and/or disastrous.

Right. That was why I didn't email in my picks because it was against the rules, period. It was crystal clear UNLESS the mods now realize that in order to "accept e-mailed picks due to the forum downtime, it means that a rule has been changed-- probably also fair to not penalize anybody in this round after all."

But good thing this was just a seeding round, and if I'm penalized, then my opponent would think my score/seeding was based on my lousy picks, LOL. No problem with that, haha. :)

Well I'm glad someone else was on the same wavelength as me. Maybe next round we'll be paired up with a third person and that person will put us both out of our miseries!! LOL

Who's play counted that was past posted may I ask? I tried my damnedest to check every post. Sorry I'm human. Mistakes are made.

You guys are making too much of this. It's a seeding round. A higher seed means you win a tiebreaker. What's the big deal? Nobody's getting dq'd except those that never made a pick. Get over it.

I will admit, I overlooked the rule for emailing picks and I am reversing my decision to accept those picks because of that. Those plays will not count.

As for the site being down, it's unfortunate but over 50 guys were able to get their plays in - that's almost half the roster. Once again, getting penalized for lack of plays is only going to affect your seed. This just seems too trivial to make earth shattering adjustments at this point. Why can't we just settle for the seed you end up with and stop the ridiculous complaining.

Hopefully, the head2head portion of the contest will run a bit smoother. The opinion that this round has been a disaster is a bit insulting considering the number of players, the timely updates and up until the site downtime, very few problems cropped up.

The only thing I would suggest is maybe dropping the minimum plays for the week down to 12. But, you're the boss JOH so do what ever you feel is right. Like you said, it is just the seeding round.
