A 500 calorie diet is going to force any human to lose weight. People are led to believe its the expensive shots that are causing the weight loss... It's the starvation that works.

How about I sell you a pair of socks for 100.00 a piece that will make you lose weight, you just have to consume 500 calories a day and no more. You will lose alot of weight. Are the socks worth it?

Question

HCG diet: Is it safe and effective?

Does the HCG diet work — and is it safe?

Answer

from Jennifer K. Nelson, R.D., L.D.

No on both counts. In fact, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has advised consumers to steer clear of over-the-counter weight-loss products that contain HCG.
HCG is human chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone produced during pregnancy. As a prescription medication, HCG is used mainly to treat fertility issues. HCG is not approved for over-the-counter use, nor has it been proved to work for weight loss. Companies that sell over-the-counter HCG weight-loss products are breaking the law.
So why has there been so much talk about the HCG diet? Perhaps it's because the diet recommends severe calorie restriction — typically just 500 to 800 calories a day. People who follow such a very low calorie diet are likely to lose weight, at least in the short term. However, that level of calorie restriction has risks, such as gallstone formation, irregular heartbeat, and an imbalance of the electrolytes that keep the body's muscles and nerves functioning properly.
If weight loss is your goal, there are safer ways to lose weight. Talk with your doctor or other health care provider about how to make healthy changes that lead to permanent weight loss, such as eating a balanced diet and getting regular exercise.

First off, I've only posted once.. You might want to look at who posted what.

You are being scammed by a shot that isn't FDA approved and you are losing weight because you aren't eating a healthy diet. I couldn't give a shit what you do or how it affects your health. I just hope others on this board don't let themselves get scammed the way you did. Most posters here have enough common sence to see through the bullshit, unlike you. I've got some property and some weight loss socks to sell you.

Why would you say someone is a "Troll" if they are just making a reply to your Thread ??

and you say that it's a poor example to use a "Weight loss Doctor:

What about what hamilbet Posted ??

Human chorionic gonadotropin or human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced during pregnancy that is made by the developing embryo after conception and later by the syncytiotrophoblast (part of the placenta).[1][2] Some cancerous tumors produce this hormone; therefore, elevated levels measured when the patient is not pregnant can lead to a cancer diagnosis. However, it is not known whether this production is a contributing cause or an effect of tumorigenesis. The pituitary analog of hCG, known as luteinizing hormone (LH), is produced in the pituitary gland of males and females of all ages.[1][3] As of December 6, 2011, the FDA has prohibited the sale of "homeopathic" and OTC hCG diet products and declared them fraudulent and illegal.[4][5][6]

What Are the Dangers of HCG?

The Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) diet is a very restrictive, low-calorie diet. HCG is a hormone produced by pregnant women in the cells that produce placenta. Its detection in the urine appears approximately 12 to 14 days after conception. When following the HCG diet, daily hormone injections and a restricted diet of 500 calories per day is required. Marketers of the diet claim you can lose one to three pounds per day on the diet.

  • Low Calorie Diet

    • Consuming only 500 calories per day forces your body to compensate by using stored glycogen, muscle and fat. Using these resources actually lowers your resting metabolism, which makes it harder for you to lose weight and metabolize properly. Following this very low calorie diet will make you irritable, lightheaded and decreased brain function.

    Side Effects

    • Many people on the HCG diet suffer several side effects. The most common include headaches, dizziness, depression, mood swings, blood clots and confusion. Some women develop Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome (OHSS). Symptoms of OHSS include pelvic pain, stomach pain, weight gain, shortness of breath, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting.

    FDA Regulation

    • The Federal Drug Administration (FDA) for weight loss has not approved HCG injections. According to the FDA, there is no evidence that supports HCG as a weight loss aid at all. Instead, the injections help decrease hunger and discomfort while consuming very few calories. The basis of the diet's effectiveness is starvation.

Have you tried a very low carb diet? I've found the older you get the harder it is to get fat off around the stomach. The low carb is the only thing that worked for me. The good thing about low carb is once you've been on it for about a week you go into ketosis, and you no longer feel hungry. You no longer even think about food. Unlike every other diet out there.

Let him be the guinea pig. Quick weight loss diets are for the ignorant and lazy. Their is NO, quick fix, way to lose weight without eating healthy and exercise. Did not take over night to get fat, it will not take overnight to lose weight. For those looking for the quick fix, spend your money, take those pills, take that shot, and make those who know better, get rich off your laziness and stupidity. No offense, but my philosophy of eating things grown in our earth without chemicals seems to be working pretty good.

+1, its funny how people complain about all the 'chemical crap' in the food and then proceed to find the newest people (Brought to you by the SAME people that you were blaming fiveminutes ago) , swallow it and just "believe"

this is partially why new "diseases" keep coming up
