Back for another year. Last year I finished 48-39-1 (+4.95). Not bad, but I can do better.

One thing that I will be changing is the quantity of plays in the first month of the season. I feel I need to be more selective, especially in weeks 1 and 2. All plays are for 1 unit all season, unless I note them as more (would only be 1.5 at most).

Write-ups also won't be as long, as I simply don't have the time anymore, but I will try to give key points for every play I make as always.

GL all...

Week 1

2 plays to kick it off:

Saturday
Northwestern -11
More of a play against Cal than anything. They are an absolute shambles right now, possibly worse than my Jayhawks. NW shouldn't have much trouble with them. Wish I had made up my mind before it went above 10 but I don't think I'll need it.

Marshall -24
I'm not a fan of laying points on the road, especially this many, but this one will get ugly. Marshall is loaded on both sides, and Miami OH is a dumpster fire. Possible 50-point victory for Cato and the Herd.

Chance of T-storms for both games, but not any kind of ridiculous wind so I'll take my chances.

I remember last season how the thunder storms seemed to play a major role in college football games. Lightening and pulling them on and off the fields and not finishing games.

Good luck HJ

Week 2

Saturday
North Texas -2.5
Both these teams have question marks on both sides of the ball. Neither team did particularly well in their opening-week tune-up games (SMU losing 45-0 to Baylor, N Texas losing 38-7 against Texas). I think North Texas has fewer problems than SMU, and will control the line of scrimmage enough to outscore them (this OL returns 5 starters, 128 combined starts). "Outscore" as in, not much defense in this one.

UTSA +13.5

Other than Appalachian State, UTSA has the most returning starts on the offensive line of any team in the FBS with 143. They returned 9 on offense, 10 on defense. Oklahoma State returned 9 players total. Retooling that much, I think OSU struggles this year, especially with their current QB situation. That's not to say that OSU doesn't have good options at QB, but their options are no more experienced than Tucker Carter at UTSA.

The step up in class surely favors Oklahoma State here, but UTSA has shown they can hang with good football teams. And not just hang with them... I think Houston will be pretty solid this year, and UTSA ate their lunch.
