I've never been...I hear it's beautiful....I also hear that the Gays have taken it completely over (not that there's anything wrong with that)...ask shdw01. He's pretty imbedded over there with that stuff.

Go to oahu to a nice hotel in Waikiki for a couple days like hilton Hawaiian village then go to maui like kapalua and call it a vacation. Plenty of action and shopping on Oahu then maui for the chill factor.

Would love to see pearl harbor

Long flight though and not the best beaches/food compared to other tropical spots

I would recommend a day or two. Shopping at ala moana and chilling at a resort is fun. I love the hilton hawaiian village for a couple days cuz once there you dont really need to leave, even has its own abc store on property

I've been several times for vaca and work (military). Oahu only.

If you are coming from the East Coast, I'd recommend going to the Caribbean or Costa Rica. It's just as beautiful, depending on where you go it's much cheaper (much, much cheaper to a lot of places like CR), and it's a lot easier to get to.

But, if you do go...you won't regret it. I wouldn't stay more than a few nights in Wakiki. It's a tourist trap area. I'd recommend going to the other side of the island where the locals live.

if you want the traditional hawaii experience with luaus and resorts, go to Maui.

either way you have to stay in Waikiki for a few nights. tourist trap, but when I'm a tourist I line the tourist stuff.

The one thing I'll recommend for now is Hanauma Bay on Oahu.
