Hawaii-Oahu anyone ever live there?

May have the opportunity to move out there. Anyone ever live there? Thoughts? I've been to Maui and loved it. It's paradise but it was a little to quiet for me to ever live there. May work in far West Honolulu.

I saw a Hawaiian once wearing a t-shirt that read " Me not late, I'm Hawaiian" . Thought it was funny. I guess it means people do things at their own pace there.

I've been to Oahu several times for work and vacation, but never have lived there. One of my buddies is from Oahu and we stay at his parents when we go, but it's been about 5 years. I'm in the military, so I am allowed on base and that makes groceries a lot cheaper (shopping at the commissary). It's expensive, but as you said, it's paradise. The beaches are incredible and quite secluded in certain areas (outside of the tourist spots).

I'd jump at the opportunity to live/work there....but I'd probably want it to be short lived, maybe 2-4 years.

The cost of living here is off the chart. When you say far west honolulu i hope you don't mean waianae lol. If your salary is in the six figures you'll be fine here.
