I can get Hawaii +14 and Fresno -10.5 both at -110.

Is there value in chasing this middle opportunity, or is it always a waste of time trying to middle college (esp high scoring games)?

That would be nice, but don't got it.

Another option for me is that I played Fresno -18 fairly big when it first came out (following my bet on UH at home, against when away rule (works every year)), I could just take UH +14 first half, and ride the FResno -18 game.

Looking at past road games, UH has been close the first half, then the D tires resulting in a second half blow out.

Any other opinions?

Even with numbers +14.5 and -9.5 I wouldn't middle this game. This is just not a good spot for Hawaii at this time. Fresno St. should roll in this particular situation. Just too many facts pointing toward Fresno and nothing for Hawaii.

Sounds about right. Okay, I'll just sit on my -18 game bet and hope Fresno keeps running the ball.

That last La Tech Hawaii game was the strangest thing. La tech was getting 7-8 yards a run, and then all of a sudden, they would throw the ball 3 straight. Pat Hill has more of that hammer the ball up in there mentality. If he's getting 7 yards a carry (which I think they will), he'll keep hammering it all night long.

The other thing is, Jones has the mentality that a 60 point loss is as bad as a 3 point loss. In other words, if he's down 16 points with 8 mins left and is 4th and 10 on Hawaii's 30 yard line, he's likely to fake a punt, or just go for it. Stuff like that always adds to Hawaii's problems.

Jones has also admitted that they lack speed at the reciever position, but that he still needs to take shots down the field. Not sure how that will effect things, but I'm guessing not good for Hawaii.

Hawaii had a lot of motivation for that game considering Chang was going for the record at HOME. La. Tech had to travel a long way for that game and really didn't look very inspired. Fresno St. has a much better defense and should create more opportunities for their offense. Fresno St. knows their next 2 games after Hawaii are very winnable and an 8-3 record would give them a very good bowl game as opposed to 7-4. Fresno St. also has an opportunity to put their foot on Hawaii's throat in front of a national tv audience after losing the last 3 yrs. to Hawaii. Major revenge!
I think Hawaii could care less about their last road game and just want to get through it. They have 3 more home games to worry about not to mention 2 of those are against Big 10 teams. Hawaii will be looking ahead to better days.

Hawaii always plays like crap on the road. I seem to always see them being completely ineffective when they don't have the advantage of lulling their opponents with luaus like they can at home. With Fresno State crushing their last couple of opponents.....this was no surprise tonight.Got Fresno State -21 and Seattle Supersonics -5 tonight....looks like all I have left is to wait for the Sonics to take care of the Raptors.....:105317756

Can I trade in my Hawaii +21 for 2 cents on the dollar please?

SM, thanks for getting me off that middle. There was a reason I went big on Fresno -18, no use losing juice trying to middle the first half.

Fresno is doing exactly what I figured, run, run, run. 2nd half will be an interesting line. While normally, one team being up so big, you might see a low total and small side, but given that Fresno will be running out the clock (running, what they are doing now), they might score another 30+ points in the second half, to Hawaii's 7?

GL to everyone else, should they jump in the 2nd half.
