I haven't done it yet. Making changes to computer makes me nervous. Is this considered a "critical" update?

If you use Firefox, then don't upgrade to the new IE. If you don't like the new IE, you can use the system restore feature to uninstall the feature. The tabbed features are nice.

I did and got rid of it fast. I use Firefox mostly anyway. But IE 7 messed up the graphics on a lot of shit. It' an awful program. Very clunky.

I use mainly Firefox for general browsing, but there are so many sites that will not work properly with Firefox. Also, Roboform does not work that great with Firefox.

I have IE 7 and it seems fine. Has tabs sort of like Firefox now. I turned off the pfishing filter and it is a little faster, but still a turtle compared to Firefox.

I posted this in a seperate thread, you should upgrade to IE 7 even if you don't use it. Many programs embed IE's rendering engine (Outlook Express and Windows Explorer, and third-party programs); your system will be exposed to security holes if you do not keep IE patched and up-to-date.

Even if you use Firefox exclusively (which I do).

Adam,
I had not even thought of it from that angle. I know so little anyway about it. I sent YouBet techs an email maybe 2 weeks ago asking than if I should update to IE 7 and their response was to hold off till their techs had tested it.

I sent them another email tonight asking the same question again. Don't know if they will respond this time or not.

Their system ONLY works with IE.

Unless you want to use CSTV, who are not IE7 Compatible, as I found out when I went to watch games today. Luckily before I had got around to upgrading the new laptop.

I use IE, firefox I had nothing but problems. But I use it for Bettrojan because for some reason I can't place bets with them on IE

Can you download IE7 at any other site than Microsoft? I have a pirated copy and they won't let me get any upgrades!

YouBet says in an email message to me--that "experiencing some issues with the new microsoft browser" "Just beware that if you download it, you may experience difficulty with handicapping information"

I'm not touching it for a while. Why mess with something that isn't broken?

Thanks for trying, but they still ask you to have your system validated before you can install!

How long does that process take?

Well--I got that screen "valading windows" and was stuck there for 15 minutes with nothing at all happening. This is a new computer from August 06. That's when I gave up on it Friday.
