Have you ever lost your favorite team?

Did your favorite team in any sport ever move or been retracted? I have one, the Hartford Whalers was my favorite hockey team. When they became the Carolina Hurricanes, I stopped following hockey all together. So in the last 19 years, I have watched VERY little hockey.
