Crazy impressed with their Defense though. It's a machine and they know they needed to play well to help out their 3rd string QB.

Can you imagine the value of Brady on a trade? Montana won 4 super bowls & was traded after several years.......the Patriots IMO don't need Brady to win, its the system Belichick has created......you can put whoever you want back there & win.

Just like Montana, they both were/are in a system that works & wins no matter what.......but being realistic, there's no way the Pats would ever trade the golden boy.

Now you gotta ask are they better without Brissett. Injured thumb...

Jimmy G is way better than Bris........just watch Jimmy in.the pocket, to me he looksjust like Brady back in the day.

IMO, Jimmy G is the future of the Pats franchise.

As a Pat's fan this is how i think this will play out. Jimmy G's contract is up after the 2017 season. At that point, if Brady doesn't want to retire the Pat's will trade him or cut him and franchise jimmy (or work out an extension).

I love Brady, obviously, but you don't trade a potential franchise guy (Jimmy, and I think he can very good) at age 24, because you have a 39-year old. The hard part, however, is somehow Brady has elevated his game the last 2 years when statistic say he should've declined.

But in 2 years, when Jimmy G's deal is up, he will be 41. So I think that is the year they move on from Brady. There will be some dead money, but they will still save money on the cap that year. They can't cut or trade Brady before that -- even if they wanted to (and they don't-- because he has 28 million in dead money as of now.

Yes, Brissett was thrown into a nearly impossible situation and managed the game well. There was no game managing with Jimmy, really. they ran the same aggressive offense as they did with Brady. If you look at his stats, it is arguable Jimmy G played better than any other QB the first 6 QTRs of the season. I know it is a small sample size, but you could just tell he has been coached up brilliantly since he was drafted, in 2014.

I am hoping he is able to be that Rodgers type a guy who benefited from sitting for a few years.

I think Brady will retire before ever being traded like Montana to another team, & rightfully so.

It felt so weird seeing Montana play for the Chiefs......but Jimmy G IMO is the future of the Pats if he can stay healthy......one thing Brady did & still can do is play most weeks.
