Has anyone signed up for the Health Care.gov plan? I'm a self employed loan officer working for an agency. They do offer health insurance for my family but it's insane for basic coverage. Something to the tune of $2180/month to cover myself and my family of 4. The carrier is Aetna HMO. Im seriously considering the Obama plan because after taxes, that $2200 monthly nut is just too much to take. Has anyone signed up?

Depends on what plans you can get in the state you are in.

I know we kept our insurance, and since Obamacare hit the scene, our deductibles, out of pocket expenses, and monthly payments aren't worth it now.

Our premiums have almost doubled, and we are paying almost double per office visit and prescriptions, and now we have to spend out of pocket fees before insurance kicks in!!!

How wonderful Obamacare was.... it sure didn't save us any money... it got way to expensive, and we are getting even less coverage.

What a fucking joke.

I am 38, single and self employed. I am signed up with Obamacare and love it. $25 copay, $400 deductible and $750 max out of pocket. Less than $300 per month before any tax credit. I was with Coventry last year, then United for the first month of this year and just switched to the above referenced plan today with Humana

I pay less than that for HMO and DHMO for a family of 5. My employer pays 75% of health care costs.

I'm not with Obama Care either. I Pay $252/mo for an individual plan or $736/mo for a family plan thru my employer. $5k deductible and have an hsa that I max out every year. I know it's a lot more money if you are self employed.

I feel bad for you guys in the states. 300+ million people should make the cost of healthcare super cheap. Hard to believe your politicians can't get together and design a plan that everyone likes.

Not with ObamaCare, but my Employer plans expanded this year with alot more choices, possibly because of Obamacare(?), and I was able to get basically the same coverage I had, slightly higher Co- Pays, but Lower Prescription cost, so basically a wash. But premiums are $200 per month less. Not a fan of Obamacare, we Need what Canada and the Rest of the Civilized World has, but it's better than what it was.

Healthcare in the states is a joke at this point. Only people that can afford it are teachers and govt employees. My sister works for government and pays $50 a month for family medical. She cries because they raised it. I tell her normal people are paying avg of 150 a week and get a reality check.

Most Americans don't want a plan everyone likes unless everyone pays for their plan instead of having it handed to them.
