Is she really all that funny? It's not a sarcastic question. I ask because I don't think I've seen anything she's in and I don't know how her popularity came to be about. The previews I've seen her in and I just don't get it. Maybe it's just me.

I haven't seen a lot of her material, but 'The Heat' and 'Identity Thief' actually surprised me (in a good way)

Critics are loving Melissa McCarthy’s new spoof comedy “SPY”. Apparently, the gags are smart, genuinely funny, and the writing is good. It doesn’t hurt that she is surrounded by a great supporting cast: Jude law, Jason Stratham, Alison Janney, and Rose Byrne (from Bridesmaids).

Getting awesome reviews which is surprising because most of her movies have been as shit as possible. I'll check it out based on the reviews.

never watched her tv show but I do recall laughing at the small parts she had in "this is 40"

The laughs in this have 99% to do with massive cussing.

Isn't this all really about political correctness.

I mean to show that a total cow can be allowed to star in motion pictures.

This is a perfect example of when I wonder how in the hell Rottentomatoes.com comes up with such a high rating of a movie.

This movie was decent.

Maybe a 5 or 6 out of 10.

But a 95%?!?
