Well I did just now! I'll try to make this short. Warm enuff here today to take my WC out. So I went to the store, always take only my Debit card, no wallet. Got up to the register & the girl says "your card is rejected" tried it twice, WTF, come to find out it had expired. I guess I got a new one & forgot to activate it. Was going to leave when she hands me the receipt. I said "what's going on" & some guy had paid it. So I looked around, no one there, finally found him and asked for his name & addy, he said "no" but thanks. WTF I wanted to send him the $$, then some other guy says "just return the favor to someone else, accept it". I did, we shook and he left. "Pay It :)Forward"??

Good story, just how did you not notice the other guy paying for it?

I had moved ahead and was turned around, when the girl gave me the receipt. Took a moment to realize wha happen!!!! Wasn't just a couple of bucks either.

Great story. I like to hear that sort of thing.

In about 3 weeks from now I plan on going to my local Benny's store (lower end but it has a toy section), and paying off two separate lay-aways. One for a boy and one for a girl.

I gave a .25 cent tip to a cabbie in Manhattan and he threw it out the window at me as I was leaving. That's the closest I've ever come to an act of kindness from a stranger

When I was 17 I was with my buddy and two girls out at night. I was driving and we pulled into a 7-Eleven to grab a drink. When I went to leave my car wouldn't start. I was driving a 1970 Nova at that time. Anyhow, I raised the hood to take a look and there was water poured out everywhere underneath. My water pump had gone out. We stood there for 5 minutes deciding what to do. We had about $40 between us. A guy around 30 with his son pulled up in a truck. They were leaving from the Supercross at Texas Stadium. It was 12:30am. He drove to Auto Zone and bought a water pump and went on to install it in the parking lot. It took a couple of hours. I couldn't believe it. We gave him the $40 and later I sent him the cost of what he spent in full. It was very nice of him.

Silver, same thing happened to me.

Was in a line at the grocery store and the machine at the register wouldn't take my debit card. A few weeks earlier it had started not accepting due to a run-down swipe strip and I just never ordered a new card. I started to walk out of the line to find a cash machine and a lady said "I got it." Paid my $35 bill no questions asked.

One time years ago I was riding in my friends car when we drove by some people who were broken down. My buddy who was driving pulled over got and helped the 2 guys push the car off the road and get it running again. Maybe not that big of deal but it's the only time in my life I've ever seen some one do it.

I was on a date once and there were several single open seats at the bar, but not two together. I asked a couple if they wouldn't mind sliding down one seat so we could both sit down. They gladly moved over, so I asked the bartender to get them a drink on me. When the bartender gave them the drinks the couple was very appreciative. I said, "no problem, I appreciate you guys moving for us." We decided to eat at the bar and the couple left....when I asked for my check about 30 minutes later, the bartender says, "That guy paid your tab." I couldn't believe it. Our table was probably $60-75. He was long gone, so I couldn't thank him.

If I ever go through the toll booth and pay w/ cash (I usually use my ezpass) I'll say "this is for me and the car behind me" and pay for both cars. I'll do that at a drive thru occasionally.

When you pay for the car behind you when at a drive thru how do you know that person isn't a serial killer or child predator, or a rapist?
