To me it wasn't anything the Twins did wrong, but the management of the game. In the 8th, even with a reliever I couldn't believe they were gonna pitch to Thomas again after he was the one nailing them to begin with. He went 3-4 with 2 HR's. The lineup behind him isn't that dangerous. So they decide to pitch him again and lo and behold, another shot! Now it's a 3-1 game instead of a potential double play ball. Not to mention The Twins got another run which would have made it extra innings in all likelyhood with Minny holding the advantage in BP strength. Call me crazy, but I don't think the outcome will be different this time. Add to that, Bonser gave up 3 knocks last outing vs. Oakland, forget Santana.
Oakland wins 6-3

What about this aggressive strategy of going after zitos high fastball and not laying off some pitches and trying to let zitos control problems put some men on bases through walks? The twins sometimes lackluster bats were in evidence yesterday but they should have still won that game. some very poor decisions on stealing, baserunning in general, and on hitting zito.Lets hope they adjust today and get back in this.they are the better team.
cheers

I don't agree with walking him, Jesse Crain had gone 27 innings without giving up a run. The pitch was low and inside and Thomas got to extend his arms, if that pitch is up a little its a average fly ball. Give Thomas credit and its hard to second guess the manager for that one. I am not a huge Gardenhire fan, I second guess his decisions all the time but I have no problem with pitching to Thomas with this matchup.
