Only time I can recall someone stealing anything from my vehicle was about two years ago from my 1992 Chevy S10, parked in my driveway - which is a carport less than ten feet from my front door.
Being as it's a work truck and I carry little of significant value in the cab, I routinely leave it unlocked.
Well, seems some young teens (as we found out later from cops) rolled through our townhome cul-de-sacs one evening a little after dark.
And they opened the ice chest in bed of my truck, which I figured out because there was a half-full bottle of powerade sitting at the end of my driveway when I discovered that they had also poked into my cab and into the console where I have a bank bag which I use simply to store work related receipts.
The bank bag was later found by my next door neighbor in her bushes, with all the receipts intact.
But here's the SAD PART....
Before coming home that evening, I had just stopped by my friendly CCS (Community Cannabis Supplier) and bought a nice fat $100 1/2oz
Which during the short drive home, I tuck away into the ol' bank bag, zip it up and conceal it in my console.
When I got home, I was whipped and went inside for a shower and something to eat and it wasn't but an hour later I went out to get my stash.
OH NO
Once I realized what had happened, I began to look for the bank bag....and across the street saw a sheriff's officer talking to one of my neighbors.
Their car had also been opened and bunch of CDs ripped off.
Your humble Rx Late Night Mod unfortunately could not report the precise details of his own losses.
But other than that, we all lived happily ever after
And Yes, I now ALWAYS bring the ol' CCS purchase indoors Immediately upon arriving home.
