I have not personally. But I have seen it happen to a friend and another time my dad. In really unsuspecting places, where you would never guess it would happen.

Lot of 'pros' out there that do this for a living.

Worst that happened to my car is the apartment matience guy backed up into it with his bobcat while plowing snow late at night and caused a good $1500 damage on the passenger side.

Had my car broken into plenty of time, probably around 5-6. Stole lots of odd things. Ashtray, headlights, hatchback capret liner, alarm, intake, and of course stereo equip.

A nice car stereo, it's almost not even worth it unless you got nice security or a lot of disposable cash in case something happens.

Come to think of it, I did get took good once. I had a system with ADS amps and Boston accoustics speakers. I treated myself to a nice system. Got in a bad accident, everything mysteriously gone when I went to check in on my Eclipse. Guy at the shop just shrugs his shoulders. 1500$ worth of car stereo, c ya latta.

I had just gotten out of the hospital after surgury and some cocksucker stole my car right from my driveway about 15 feet from my house.

The fucker ran it into 2 utility poles and totaled it.

What a mess that was. Just weaker than shit, filling out papers and trying to find another car.

I live in New Jersey. So yes multiple times.
Feel a little violated when you find out.

2 things I recommend: Don't park your car near a bus top or a Sizzler.

Yet another tragedy that could be easily avoided by living in Clearwater FL

Only time I can recall someone stealing anything from my vehicle was about two years ago from my 1992 Chevy S10, parked in my driveway - which is a carport less than ten feet from my front door.

Being as it's a work truck and I carry little of significant value in the cab, I routinely leave it unlocked.

Well, seems some young teens (as we found out later from cops) rolled through our townhome cul-de-sacs one evening a little after dark.

And they opened the ice chest in bed of my truck, which I figured out because there was a half-full bottle of powerade sitting at the end of my driveway when I discovered that they had also poked into my cab and into the console where I have a bank bag which I use simply to store work related receipts.

The bank bag was later found by my next door neighbor in her bushes, with all the receipts intact.

But here's the SAD PART....

Before coming home that evening, I had just stopped by my friendly CCS (Community Cannabis Supplier) and bought a nice fat $100 1/2oz

Which during the short drive home, I tuck away into the ol' bank bag, zip it up and conceal it in my console.

When I got home, I was whipped and went inside for a shower and something to eat and it wasn't but an hour later I went out to get my stash.

OH NO

Once I realized what had happened, I began to look for the bank bag....and across the street saw a sheriff's officer talking to one of my neighbors.

Their car had also been opened and bunch of CDs ripped off.

Your humble Rx Late Night Mod unfortunately could not report the precise details of his own losses.

But other than that, we all lived happily ever after

And Yes, I now ALWAYS bring the ol' CCS purchase indoors Immediately upon arriving home.

With all those Evangelical Christians constantly rolling through your neighborhood trying to recruit new members, I'm stunned none of them saw the thieves in action.
