I have an acct with intercasino, for Poker, but I play the 'match play' money in the casino. Cannot use the match play $$ in the Poker Room.
I play the public BJ tables and usually LOSE
then again, I usually lose at BJ in Vegas too.
About 20yrs ago I used a 3 level count w/half deck adjustment... Made a little $$ in Vegas but it was too much work for the ROI. IMHO

Heres a story.......When I used to play at The Sands casino, there was a guy in there I always chatted with at the blackjack tables (each table gave all sitting and playing chat at the top of screen) Anyhow......this went on for months, and one night I was up playing BJ until about 11:30 pm that night, and decided to go to bed, telling him I would talk to him later and as always, we told each other, be careful in there. The next day I checked my email, and there was one from The Sands saying he (his screen name) had won the $400,000 + jackpot at the Caribbean poker table!
I played at that table on and off, and played a few hands earlier that night, and still wonder what had happened if I had of stayed on just a little bit longer!.......
You generally have worse odds at an online casino than you do a brick-and-mortar one, when it comes to cards, ecause decks are shuffled after each hand. This is especially true for blackjack -- in fact, if you know of a casino which does NOT shuffle after each hand in BJ, please let me know so I can go bankrupt them.

That said, I'm up rather a lot at TGC since I opened my account a little over two years ago. I think your friend may be unlucky, or perhaps the victim of shitty management in an isolated case.

Jman - online casinos aren't anything I'm an expert at as I don't play them. I am sure some of them are on the up and up though, if you already have a big built in edge there is no reason for them to cheat. So I would guess yes you can find honest casino's on line. If you play long enough and take the worst of anything eventually you will come out on the short end of the stick. And yes you are not playing anything with a positive expectation in any on-line casino that I know of. Same goes for a brick and mortar casino for that matter, you are getting the worst of it except in very rare situations. Perhaps some blackjack set-ups with favorable rules can be to a players advantage and I think some slot machines when you add in comps can come out to be a profitable play. For the most part though playing in any sort of casino long term is a losing situation and not good for your bankroll.
I don't play them nor would I recommend them for anyone wanting to earn but they can be enjoyable for some if that's their thing. If I got to Vegas I take a few dollars to throw after a dice game but for the most part I know to stay away.
