I was wondering what anybody thought of this new Arby's roast burger. I have has it twice so far and thought it was ok but had a free coupon for it when you bought any size soft drink.
I was there just the other Night ( drive-thru ) and was thinking about it.
Didn't pull the trigger, went with a roast beef sandwich.
When you say Ok....Like what did you Like or Dislike about it ?
I still don't get it ?
I like the fact that they make it fresh and taste good and I had the bacon & bleu roastburger and the bacon cheedar roastburger.
I dislike the fact Arby's doesnt put alot of roast beef on its sandwiches anymore really cheap on doing that and if I didnt have the coupon I would not pay $3.69 for this burger
too many ways to make burgers nowadays. used to it was with or without cheese, then whatever the place put on them...i mean, you go to burger king now you got like 6 other burgers besides the whopper, hardees has a half dozen "thickburgers", and so on....mcdonalds only one that hasn't seemed to add a bunch of different varieties to their burgers, got the quarterpounder and big mac, just like when i was young.
anybody watch man vs food on the travel channel? dude was on there last night putting a fried egg and peanut butter on his burger and then swore how good it was....
Wow. Good post. I also remember in the late 80's when Taco Bell was something special. It's dog crap now. The .99 cent wars killed things. Great analysis. I also want to add the super sizing of everything' as something that just cut into the enjoyment of fast food.Arby's was a real strong place to eat at in the 80's. It was an alternative to all of those crappy burger joints and when you ate at Arby's it was a treat. I used to love to treat myself to some Arby's roast beef when ever I went to the mall. I remember the regular roast beef having a fresh bun and being piled on high full of meat. I used to eat those muthafuckas so fast I would lose my breath.
Now when I go there I never feel satisfied. The lack of meat and the hot microwaved soggy bun makes the shit taste real cheap. I end up getting the roast beef sandwiches on the french roll now because they seem a little more edible.
I wonder if the whole fast food experience has just fell down over the years because of these $.99 wars they have with each other so the ingredients get cheaper and cheaper. Also do you chalk it up to the mexican factor? It seems these non english speaking mexicans have difficulty filling an order and following ingredients and instructions. Or could it be that I am older now and my taste buds have widened over the years from experiencing better quality foods. Is it possible that a Western Bacon Cheesburger or a Whopper tasted good to me when I was in high school because back then those were the best burgers I ever tasted. Now after eating various burgers at higher end restaurants when I try to go fast food I can taste the low quality in the ingredients?
