I'm not so sure about that. You agree the rule is outdated. Rules are made to be broken, especially unjust and outdated rules.

Mirage - Not grading bets until game is completed
5 dimes - Canceled all bets
sportbook.com - Canceled all bets

Management can definitely do what is right and admit rule hasn't been changed since begginging of time and is now out dated and the graded of bets was unfair. This need to be remedied.
Who can verify that Mirage is keeping the bets live? Same with 5 Dimes. Who cares about sportsbook.com?

I agree that it's not possible to win the game, but not cover the moneyline. Moneyline bets, by definition, are bets on who will win the game.

However, unless the books are okay with maybe having a bet be live for 90 days before it is decided, then the rule will stay as it is. Are players okay with having their money tied up for 90 days? The rule at sportsbooks may not make sense, but it is fair for all the players and for the books. Each side has an equal chance of benefitting from the rule.

That's fine, then it should be graded no action, but not a loser. Grading Philly a winner when in fact they did not win the game is totally illogical.

And I had nothing whatsoever on the game. Just my opinion.

I had nothing on it, either. I think consistency is the only thing that's important. And that means that the Phillies being graded a winner is the only option. If they want to change the rules for next year, I'm all for that.

Agreed on both counts. This has happened before and should have been changed them, but sometimes it takes a prominent example. I lost in the exact same situation in '07 (I think), Cubs at Pirates. They actually took the lead in the top of the 7th but it was suspended. Cubs ML loser. What's worse is I had hedged in-game on Pirates and had that voided.

I can't believe the Mirage is doing this. Philly tickets will need to be paid no matter what, I'm sure that rule is clearly posted.

Maybe they are just giving a freeroll to TB bettors, with Philly being paid either way - as some kind of goodwill promotion - that's the only way it makes sense.

As for 5D, they are no humanitarians; Tony probably had significantly more action on Philly and saw this as a way to weasel out. No allegedly reputable book takes shots at it's own players as much as 5D ! None.

they graded the game though........just like everyone else.....tb lose philly win.......total no action run line no action

My point is simply that there is no rhyme or reason for their customers to think that the livebets would follow under any different rules.

and the LIVE bets should be treated by the same rules.

the only rule they have overriding it is this:

"All Live lines are for the complete game score."

Now that statement is certainly not enough to override all baseball rules?

Matchbook for example correctly specified that aall LIVE wagers must go 8.5 innings, but not pinnacle.

thus,

any logical person would assume standart rules apply.
