Anyone remember her?

Mitt Romney ought to stay in the country near a phone. This ain't official until next week and I suspect even then it could be changed.

Stay tuned.

I think you're right .. it won't take McCain long to see how stupid the pick is ...

Yesterday, Obama said, "McCain just doesn't get it" ... and today, McCain proves him right.

The stupidity here is simply amazing.

I didn't see the intro but I would have my doubts if she can play in the big leagues for the next 70 days

I really doubt this was McCain's doing....I'm sure he had final say but ever since 2000 and I noticed it in the primaries he has become so consultant driven...I'm sure he's willing to continue to listen since they got him this far. I'd bet he would have liked Lieberman

I'm sure the polling said that a woman VP would give him an in to the largest undecided block, female voters. This was a poll pick. A reactionary pick. Kinda like a Harriet Miers pick.

The pick just kills McCain's BIGGEST counter against Obama ... that he isn't ready.

After yesterday's speech, some schmuck in the campaign came up with this "official reaction" to the speech:

"Tonight, Americans witnessed a misleading speech that was so fundamentally at odds with the meager record of Barack Obama. When the temple comes down, the fireworks end, and the words are over, the facts remain: Senator Obama still has no record of bipartisanship, still opposes offshore drilling, still voted to raise taxes on those making just $42,000 per year, and still voted against funds for American troops in harm's way. The fact remains: Barack Obama is still not ready to be President."
I wonder how the guy feels today after learning of the Palin pick.

I know. That's what tells me that they switched the pick last minute after his speech. Either that or the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

I think I might sell Palin at 90-1. This thing is not set in stone. I would not count out her pulling a Harriet Miers here...

Yup.

In two days, McCain will have her say that she really wants to "spend more time with her family and help the people of Alaska"

Palin Ad Starring Ted Stevens Already Scrubbed From Palin's Campaign Website
By Greg Sargent - August 29, 2008, 1:58PM

That was quick. This morning, an ad from Sarah Palin's 2006 gubernatorial campaign featuring an endorsement from scandal-plagued Alaska Senator Ted Stevens was available on Palin's campaign Web site.

We were able to access it ourselves by clicking on the link:

...but now the Stevens ad has already been scrubbed. The link is no longer on her campaign site.

Luckily, the ad featuring Stevens and Palin is still available for your viewing pleasure!

Ah, the miracles of YouTube...

Ah, the miracles of YouTube...

A rueful coincidental outcome given Stevens' classic, "You see - the Internet is a series of tubes!"

It took this VP pick to get me back ... I wanted to see how Josie and the Pussycats would take it ... they must be floored right now ... especially the Romney backers ... we all know they were pissed when McCain beat Romney, but this takes the cake for stupidity.

PS: I wa thinking that if we count the ibettor days, we have "known" each other for close to 10 years, barman.

CINCY, it's certainly a notable time period and I don't think "" marks are needed.

Part of our 21st century social paradigm shift is the establishment of ongoing cyber relationships of all kinds. Ours happens to hover around the fraternity of sports handicapping. Best ten years of my life and people like you are a key component.

Now McCain can pull back the pick and blame it on evil liberal bloggers for making it difficult on the Palin family with the pregnancy, say that Bristol is having trouble and Sarah needs to withdraw to take care of her family.

Make it look like the media and the liberals were awful to her and try to graner sympathy.

Wouldn't surprise me.
