[h=1]The dramatic moment a cop shot dead suspect who pretended to surrender then fired at him four times after car chase[/h]
  • Emilio Solis came out of car with hands up, then fired at least four shots
  • Officer Andra Gibson, from Hedwig Village, Texas, returned fire
  • Gibson's was unharmed after shots hit patrol car and brushed his uniform
  • Solis, who was wanted on drug charges and fled from a traggic stop, died
  • Confrontation took place in late July, but police have just released footage

This heart-stopping footage shows a Texas cop's brush with death as a suspect appears to surrender - then pulls a gun and fired four shots at him.
A split-second firefight then erupts, in which Andra Gibson, an officer with the police department of Hedwig Village, near Houston, downs Emilio Solis with a series of fatal gunshots.
Despite Solis letting off the first shots, and even brushing the officer's uniform, Officer Gibson was left unharmed in the deadly exchange this summer.

Hands up: Emilio Solis pulled over his car and made a gesture of surrender - but immediately pulled a gun and tried to kill police officer Andra Gibson

Hedwig Village police released footage of the incident this week, which shows the 17-shot gunfight between Gibson and Solis, who had been stopped after a car chase, according to Fox 26.
The footage shows Solis fire several shots towards the patrol car dash cam. Three embedded themselves in the windshield.
Another tore through the leg of Officer Gibson's pants, but did not make contact with his body.

Officer Gibson then returned fire, at which point Solis collapsed to the ground. A backup car quickly arrives, and the lights illuminate Solis laying on the ground not far from his vehicle.
He later died on the way to hospital.
The policeman had first tired to pull Solis over for making an illegal turn, but the routine stop escalated into a chase.

Downed: Solis, shown left, died on his way to hospital. Backup arrived soon after the firefight

Solis pulled over to let out a passenger before speeding off again. At points in the chase he drove the wrong way in an attempt to shake off the officer.
It later emerged that Solis was wanted in Los Angeles on drug charges. He was also suspected of being involved in seven aggravated burglaries shortly before he was killed.
David Gott, chief of Hedwig Village police, said: 'No doubt about it. God was on his side.
'The officer is also a pastor in his off-duty time. I don't know if that helped. But it certainly didn't hurt.'

The start: Gibson started pursuing Solis because he made an illegal right turn on a red light

False stop: The chase appeared to be over soon after - but Solis only stopped briefly to let his passenger, right, make a run for it

The tragic shooting in Ferguson notwithstanding, this is a reminder how and why cops are given the liberty to shoot to kill, and they make that judgment in a millisecond's time, which is the difference between their lives and death.

[h=1]Anti-Police Hysteria, Media Lies: The Lesson of Ferguson – VALLEY PATRIOT EDITORIAL 12-14[/h] Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson fought off his would-be killer Michael Brown, who attacked him in his cruiser, tried to shoot Wilson with his own gun, and eventually was killed when charging at the officer.
That is what the science says.
Forensic evidence shows Michael Brown’s blood was inside the front seat of Officer Wilson’s cruiser and on his uniform.
Bullet holes were found inside the driver’s side door. Autopsies by not only MO County examiners, but also Eric Holder’s Dept. of Justice, show that Michael Brown was shot in the thumb with gun powder embedded in his hand, proving Brown was holding the gun when it went off.
Science, and forensic evidence also shows that Brown was charging forward at the officer when he fired the fatal shot to Brown’s head.
Given these scientific facts, the grand jury in Ferguson voted not to charge Officer Wilson and that he killed Michel Brown in self-defense. Unfortunately, the facts didn’t seem to matter by the time this decision was reached. Those who exploit racial division had already promoted the fake news narrative of a wild, racist, white cop gunning for any black man he could kill (with a “news” media all too eager to whip up racial hatred for ratings).
There are two types of people when such stories are hyped by the “news” media.
The first, are those who make up their minds long before any evidence, science, or forensics are established. They want to believe one side because it fits their world view. In this case: “white cop” equals bad … while “young black criminal” equals good.
The other type of person waits for evidence, facts, and science before making up their minds, because they are not interested in promoting a narrative, but seeking the truth based on … just the facts, ma’am.
Being in the second category, we are horrified by the lies and propaganda of those who rest in the first.
CNN, Al Jazeera America, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC and almost every other news channel stoked the flame of hatred, hyping the fact that Brown was “an unarmed black teen” to psychologically manipulate the public into believing Officer Wilson committed murder.
They also hyped the accusations of racism, despite the fact that not one shred of evidence has been produced to show racial bias, hatred, or prejudice on the part of Officer Wilson.
With millions of news reporters obsessed with vilifying Wilson, you might think that they’d have dug up even one Facebook posting, tweet, former girlfriend, fellow officer, or even childhood friend alleging or showing Wilson had hatred or prejudice for black people.
To this minute that has not happened.
The fact is, those who marched, protested, rioted and looted in memory of their hero and would be cop-killer, Michael Brown, can promote all the lies and distortions they want, but their actions are clear.
Supporting Michael Brown in the wake of real science, evidence, and a Dept. of Justice autopsy, shows that they support violent, black criminals having the “right” to attack police officers in their cars, shoot them with their own guns, and do so with impunity because of paranoid delusions of mass persecution by white America. Delusions that were promoted and propagandized by the news media, Hollywood, and the White House.
We support Officer Darren Wilson in the wake of the science and the evidence. Those who don’t are clearly science-deniers who hate white people, hate cops, and worst of all hate science and the truth … especially when that truth flies in the face of what they wanted to happen, instead of what did happen.

A tale of two cities. Hedwig Village and NYC.

One has a police chief David Gott, who praises his officer and the other, William J. Bratton who does not.

Officers, led by union leaders, turned their backs on the mayor and Commissioner William J. Bratton on Saturday night as the two walked through a hospital to address the public about the deaths.

It all starts at the top & Obama has had many more Muslim leaders & rabble rousers as guests at the White House than those in law enforcement or for that matter Christian Leaders. What can anyone expect but turmoil & more of the same. By the way this newest
assassin of 2 NY policemen was an avowed Muslim who was influenced by the likes of Holder, BO, Sharpton & DeBlasio to prey on
the Police. "What do we want, dead cops; when do we want it now." good grief!

[h=1]Obama calls NYPD commissioner from Hawaii to offer 'his full support' – but ignores embattled Mayor Bill de Blasio – before heading straight to the golf course[/h]
  • President is on extended vacation as racial tensions reach boiling point in New York City
  • The White House isn't boasting about talks with Mayor Bill de Blasio, whose support for anti-police protesters started a City Hall turf war
  • Obama did, however, call Police Commissioner William Bratton, offering 'his full support' in the days ahead, according to the White House
  • A Baltimore man executed two Brooklyn police officers in their squad car on Saturday in apparent retaliation for the deaths of criminal suspects Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. and Eric Garner in New York City

Barack Obama has apparently chosen sides in the pitched battle between New York City's mayor and his police commissioner – and Mayor Bill de Blasio came out on the losing end.

The White House said Sunday that the president called New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton – but not de Blasio – during the Obama family's extended Hawaii vacation to offer 'his full support for any possible assistance in the days and weeks ahead.'
The president then left his vacation home to play golf.
De Blasio and Bratton have been at each other's throats since Saturday's cold-blooded murder of two beat cops in Brooklyn.

New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton (front) got a call of support from the president over the weekend, but his boss -- Mayor Bill de Blasio (background) -- got only the sound of Obama's silence

[h=1]Cops are MORE hesitant to shoot armed black suspects than whites, study finds[/h]
  • When confronted with an armed white suspect, participants took an average of 1.37 seconds to pull the trigger
  • But, they took 1.61 seconds to open fire on armed black suspects - and were less likely to shoot unarmed targets
  • Researchers believe reaction delay is because shooters fear consequences from killing a black suspect more than shooting a white
  • Study from Washington State University-Spokane used new, realistic simulations that were shown on a life-size video screen

PUBLISHED: 21:55, 6 January 2015 | UPDATED: 00:32, 7 January 2015
Participants in a new study of the use of police deadly force were more willing pull the trigger on armed white suspects than on blacks, researchers have found.
The surprising results challenge previous findings about racial bias - and, one the researchers says, helps combat the stereotype that cops are more eager to open fire on black suspects.
The authors of the study say the reaction delay is because officers fear that there will be greater repercussions from shooting a black suspect than a white one.
The study, conducted at Washington State University-Spokane's Sleep and Performance Research Center, used a realistic simulator that showed video images of black, white and Hispanic suspects - both armed and unarmed. Participants were given a real Glock pistol equipped with a laser and told to shoot armed attackers.
The study tested more than 30 cops, as well as 60 civilians and a half-dozen members of the military. About 85percent of the study participants were white.

Realistic: A study that put participants in a simulator and had them shoot at armed suspects found that they were more hesitant to pull the trigger on blacks than on whites

The study armed participants with a real Glock pistol that fired lasers instead of bullets - and measured the reaction times and accuracy

When confronted with an armed white suspect, participants took an average of 1.37 seconds to pull the trigger. But, they took 1.61 seconds to open fire on armed black suspects - and were less likely to shoot unarmed targets.
That split-second pause could be deadly in a real life situation, researchers say.
Moreover, the study also monitored physiological responses to the shooting scenarios and found that shooters paused - despite participants perceiving the black suspects as being a bigger threat than the white suspects.

The study contradicts previous findings that people were more likely to pull the trigger on black suspects

The results were consistent for police officers, as well as civilians and members of the military, Lois James, assistant research professor at Washington State University-Spokane, told Daily Mail Online.
'What it suggests that when faced with black suspects, there is something going on that is making some kind of pause or hesitation. What we think it might be is the fear of consequence,' Dr James said.
Dr James said those consequences could be moral - or they could be fear of backlash, either public brouhaha, criminal charges or departmental discipline.
'There's a history systemic racism in the US and there are still irrefutable facts about the treatment of some groups of people in the criminal justice system that I'm sure weigh very heavily on a lot of officers,' she said.
Dr James conceded that it is possible that the participants in the study knew that they were being watched by researchers and delayed opening fire on black suspects as a result.
However, she says researchers worked to minimize that bias. The study was initially designed to test how fatigue, experience and other factors impact in decision-making in deadly force scenarios and so race was never mentioned with participants before they went through the course.
Additionally - Dr James says - the simulator offers realistic scenarios that show life-size videos of police traffic stops and other incidents. The set-up means that most participants have very real physiological and psychological reactions to what's unfolding in front of them, she says.
Previous studies that showed a people had a bias toward using force against black suspects used much less immersive techniques - having participants sit in front of a computer screen and push a 'shoot' or 'don't shoot' button in response to pictures of armed suspects.
The findings, co-authored by David Klinger, a criminal justice professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and Washington State University-Spokane professor Bryan Vila, were published in May in the Journal of Experimental Criminology.
