only good handicapping book I've read is "Sharp Sports Betting" by Stanford Wong. It won't give you any magic formulas, but it will teach you how to look at handicapping the right way

good luck

Yeah Biggames. If I ever get back into capping seriously, I would start there.

JR Miller's site has no nonsense newbie articles Professionalgambler.com. Very informative. You'll know what you are up against.

Is that a moonbat in my sites?

Check out the gamblrers bookstore:
www.gamblersbookstore.com

For football, I recommend both of O'Neills books, as well as Dan Gordon's; Stanford Wong is OK, JR Miller has a desent book as does Feist/Sturgeon.
For stats, Al O'Donnell's "Pointspread Playbook is about the best there is for the NFL, and The NorthCoast "Football Scorebook" for both pro and college are excellent.
For weekly news, et al, I prefer "The Max" by Kevin O'Neill - he goes just that little bit farther with his support.

Good luck!

I saw Stanford Wong on the Discovery Channel talking about which games give you the best advantage. It sounded like he knew what he was talking about.

Wong's book contains things like what constitutes a trend.

I have read "Beat the Sportsbook" by Dan Gordon. Its a decent read, shows you how he comes up with his power rankings - and then shows a week by week analysis of how he capped the games and why he played certain ones. Not a bad book
